Every Customer Conversation, Now in One Place

Before a customer meeting, the full story is rarely in one place. The latest commitment might be buried in a recording, an unresolved question in another channel, and a key decision in someone’s notes. Companies is our new feature that brings every conversation with an organization, customer or not, together, so your team can always pick up exactly where it left off
What's new
Your conversations are now automatically grouped by company name. No more building a channel for every account or manually filing each call. Otter organizes them for you, quietly in the background, using your connected calendar. Everything you've ever discussed with a customer lands in one place, on its own.
Where it helps most:
- Walk into any call already caught up. Every past meeting with an account sits in a single view, so prepping for a QBR, renewal, or deal review takes seconds instead of an afternoon of digging.
- Inherit an account and get up to speed instantly. New to a customer? The full history is already waiting without the need for a handoff doc.
- Sharper AI Chat, scoped to one account. AI Chat knows exactly which meetings to pull from. Ask "what are the open risks on this account?" or "what did we promise last quarter?" and you get focused, accurate answers synthesized across every call with one company.
And it's not only for customer accounts. Any organization you regularly meet with gets the same treatment: the agency you brief every week, a vendor you're managing, or the software company you're evaluating before a purchase. Wherever a relationship plays out over multiple conversations, Companies keeps the whole thread together.
The bigger idea
A relationship is never just a single meeting. It's every conversation you've had with an account, across every person on your team, over months or years. Until now, that history lived in pieces: a note here, a channel there, a memory someone happens to hold.
Companies is a piece of something bigger. Otter has always been about more than transcription; the goal is a conversational intelligence platform: a living, searchable memory of everything your organization discusses, that you can actually ask questions of. Capturing the words was step one. Turning them into knowledge means organizing conversations around the things that matter most to your business, and a customer is one of the most important. By grouping every call with an account and making it queryable through AI Chat, Companies turn piles of transcripts into structured knowledge about your most important relationships. Your conversations shouldn't just be recorded, they should compound into knowledge your whole team can easily find, and draw on.
How it works, and how to get it
Otter looks at the email domains of the external people in each meeting from your connected calendar, and tags the conversation to the right company automatically. Your existing sharing permissions apply: you'll only ever see conversations you already have access to.
