Welcome to iron sharpens iron. I am a co host Dewayne Drummond.
Robison, I am also the co host.
Hello, hello. Hey, can you tell us your name? My name is Gloria Maria Categena Hart, and I'm known in the communities as "Smooches"
Can you say in Spanish, please?
Yo me llamo GLORIA Maria Cartagena Hart. Y todo la comunidad ese Smooches.
Okay, and what is Smooches? What is smooches besides as a kiss?
Smooches because I embrace people will love in alot is needed out there. I have lots offer.
Okay, and how does that play a part in community health and what not?
it helps a lot because, you know, I love to smile. I have been through traumatic experience in my life. Okay. I have the love to give in this need in the community. People are lacking that love. Okay?
Yes. Yes. And smooches is one of the five love language for people who don't know, I need to know something, though. Smooches. What brought you to this conference today?
It brought me here today because I love to teach people about the traumatic experiences that people go through. And I've have been through myself, and I'd like to share that and once I start sharing, and not only I heal, but I like to hear people in the community as well that are impacted with tremendous experiences that they shut down community and people don't realize that.
Okay, and you you see that as making a positive impact in the community. Has it helped?
Yes, yes. Give us an instance. For instance, like I have a neighbor, she would not come out because, you know, she sees the dealers in the corners and the people with the homelessness population going up and down the street, so she feels sheltered, she feels a prisoner from home. And the more I got to talk to her, she spent real experience with her parents, okay. They used to keep her locked ins This is she put her in the closet as a punishment. You know, this is like back in the day, punishments. And so she felt as though she wasn't worthy of being outside with other people. So we started not just saying hello, and just listening. She had a lot to share. Okay, you know, and we gained that trust. And now we just look out for one another. I check on her make sure she's fine. Does she come out to the house now? Yes, she does. She does. She does. She comes to the front of the stairs. And that's what I like to point to the community. Okay, great. Wow.
When I say just smooches, your health is your wealth. What does that mean to you?
Well, you know, when you go through a lot of things in life, you don't realize the impact, it can affect your health. Because it starts fifth, it starts mentally in the mental messes your physical, and that's where you, you don't want to do anything. So you lose strength. You don't want to just shut down and No, and I like to bring that. It's like a healing process and talk about it. Especially. You got to listen, I always tell people listen, to learn and learn to listen. And you'd be surprised at the things that's happening. And that can help you as far as health because stress is a silent killer. And people pack it in and don't talk about it. But it's good to let it out. Okay,
well, I'm going to have to we're going to have to get back with you because I'm sure you have a lot to say she also always have. So we want to thank you for coming out. Thank you for having little knowledge with us. Okay, thank you. God bless you.
