And now precious and holy name.

We're grateful to God to be able to share with you this morning. grateful to this your great pastor, my friend, my brother. As I stand in his absence, his his confidence in me to call on me. When he's not here, I counted all joy. I consider it a privilege. You ain't got to worry because I love to preach. And God has given us a word this morning, but thanks me to him. I know. He's getting some much needed rest. I can imagine. Sometimes You just need a break to rejuvenate. And when he come back, he going to blow the roof off the church. Yeah, okay. We're gonna declare decree in the name of Jesus with his rejuvenation. He shall return new and fresh with some brand new anointed for you. Amen. Amen. Thanks be to God for these great deacons and officer this church has been so kind and my many times visiting with you and to this great congregation. These members here today. My brother in arms who is with me today, preaching of the gospel ministry minister, Minister miles from economy, Bethel primitive Baptist Church.

By title, He is my cousin,

but by commitment and actions, He is my brother. So I'm glad to have him with me this morning. my beautiful wife way behind.

Yeah, I'll look too hard, fellas. Okay. All right.

Yeah, my beautiful wife who has to time out to come and share with me on this morning. It's just good to be here. It was just good to be in the house of worship. So one thing before we get started, okay, little housekeeping. We don't do this real quick. So what our mindset is going to shift to now is that we were about Hawaii. Right? We're going to pray for those along the way. Okay, because if they show up, they still may be able to get somewhere, Right. But We ain't just me here, Just cause it was somewhere to be

a man.

We came here to give God the glory. We came to worship and praise his name. Because he kept you

from last Sunday, to this Sunday,

just like he kept you from last night to this morning. And I'm here to remind you that we

serve a grateful God,

we serve an awesome God, a God who can't do anything but fail. So I don't know about you. I don't know what your week's been like. I don't know what your month has been like. But he deserves and is worthy of all the praise worthy of all. So just a little housekeeping today,

because it says in the Bible where two or three,

And I can count 123 over here, and at least three now and three and three, oh, well, two or three gather. He says I will be in the midst. So we want to feel the presence of the living God in this place. Let his anointing flow,

let his spirit rain down.

Get yourself refilled and ready

for the coming week. Because there is some adversity on the horizon. And God has delivered a message in this place today, In order for you to deal with the obstacles that you will soon face. Y'all believe that? We declare and decree that in the name of Jesus. And that's all I have right there. Okay, Amen. By your hands without this place.

God, we thank you now

For your everlasting power.

We Thank You, Lord God, for your divine providence. God, we thank You, for Your grace and your mercy.

You're keeping power,

that in spite of all

the things that we've done wrong, all the places that we've been where we shouldn't have went

all of our flaws and shortcomings.

You look beyond every single one

of these faults, and yet still supplied all of our needs. So we've gathered in this place what God because you're worthy to be praised. We've gathered in this place, Lord God, because we were built for praise. Our hearts are ready to pour out a praise

on inside.

To you, Lord God.

My prayer now is that

you now suppress this physical being. Allow now God, the spiritual

man and me to rise above

all, to be able

to stand in this place to proclaim the Gospel, According to Jesus Christ. That your spirit may speak to me and through me that a word may go forth in this place for your people. In that you're 19 will now be fresh upon me. Oh God, give me now preaching power. I know not what needs to be

said unless you say it.

I don't know what to do, Lord God unless you do it for me.

I Surrender now to your wheel, Lord God.

I Surrender now and say, not my wheel. But let your will be done in this place. So that you may get the glory.

And the people of God may be made new

and a fresh,

that somebody may be changed.

That the difference that this day make will propel us

forward in the future For Christ. Now, God, let these now the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in the sight? Oh God, my strength, O Lord, my Redeemer. This is our prayer, the name of Jesus. And all the saints of God said Amen. Amen. And Amen.

Glory to God. Don't you just feel all right?

I don't know about y'all. But I feel all right. feel all right, already feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit of the Living God in this place. For he is here with us. If you have your Bibles with you this morning, Turn with me to the book of Matthew, the Gospel According to Matthew, there in the sixth chapter. And in your hearing will read verses 24 I'm sorry, verses 31 through 34. When you have time, I always recommend that you read in depth into scripture because there are some things in there where God will be able to prick your heart and give you reference back to this message at some point. But we'll be reading your here in verses 31 through 34. Matthew The sixth chapter verses 31 through 34. If you have it say amen. If you need a little more time, just tell me to hold up. I think I heard one hold about this, we're gonna hold ups. So everybody get the word in front of them.

Matthew, the

sixth chapter,

verses 31 through 34. I'll be reading this morning from the New King James version and the scripture reads this way. Therefore Do not worry saying what

shall we eat? or What

shall we drink? or What shall we wear? For after all these things the Gentiles seek for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. sufficient for the day is its own trouble. And the word of God shall stand forever. If I can and use for subject This morning as we share in the Word of God. Familiar statement sure that everybody has heard it before. We're going to talk about this on and by way of subject. Don't worry, be happy. Don't worry, be happy. No, y'all have heard the song before. Amen. So now we're going to talk about a little bit of application. We see now that in the book of Matthew, This particular passage is a part of

the Sermon on the Mount

Jesus.

So we see that this this text is our Lord and Savior talking and speaking to us. Now In this chapter that we want to focus on, because there's so many things that he does share with us from this sermon. But we want to focus on chapter six. And It emphasizes spiritual service, and instruction about giving prayer, fasting, the time set aside for intense spiritual thought and prayer, money. And we're,

It then poses questions

to how and why we give a man? What kind of prayer life Do we really have? Do we ever take serious time to thought and prayer? And Where does money fit really into our lives? And does it rule us? And then finally, why do we worry? The one thing that at some point in some time seems to plague

us all.

So then Jesus instructs us on the biblical viewpoint, He teaches about the practice of righteousness, and spiritual service, which refers to the application of Bible doctrine in life, especially in the areas of giving prayer, fasting, and proficient details of life, and also our worry about needs for living. Let's be honest, that we've all been in a place where we have dealt with some word. Well, I stopped by here you today to give you a little helping hand with the word. So we didn't ask ourselves a question, is our service to God, self righteous service, and focus on our sales and praise for ourselves? Or is our service to please God, Instead of men? You See, self righteous and self focused service is not divine service, Right? Turn to your neighbor and say, it ain't about you. And turn to him again and say it never was about you. All right, Amen. So three things I want to just talk to you. If you bear with me for a little while. Just three quick points. I promise you I won't hold you long as long as you say amen. Amen. I want to talk about this morning, I want to talk about the anxiety of worry. I want to talk about the argument against worry. And then finally the assurance Not to worry, Amen. Are y'all praying with me? the anxiety of worry, you see what brings about anxiety. And anxiety tends to distort the future. Tomorrow say manage anxiety will distort the future. Right? You have to understand that when God is pouring out a blessing for you, is you who must place yourself in position to receive the blessing. See, some of us have fell short of what God has for us, because we've been out of place Somebody else Amen. Because we have not lined up. And this is what anxiety does. it distorts the future. There are things that we want the things that God has for

us even that we need,

that we have not gotten, because we are the ones who have distorted the future. You See, we should not get caught up in worrying about the things of this world. Understand that, that there are things in this world that means stuff tools, but I want to tell you that your life is a greater blessing than your livelihood. Your life is a greater blessing them your livelihood. I know you got a good job and you're making some good money, Right? But guess what that job is? is temporary.

Amen.

It is still temporary. You might retire from there. But it still is temporary.

But notice, here's the thing,

so that we're clear, you can be unfaithful to God through worry.

Yeah, yeah.

Showing to be on trusting. Because there's a difference between a godly sense of responsibility and, and and godly, untrusting worry. Because when you're worrying what you're saying is, I'm not sure if God can do it. I'm not sure that he can heal my body.

I'm not

sure that he can get me your new job. I'm not sure that he can get this house for him. Right. But we must understand that and ungodly, untrusting since a worry, Usually masquerades as responsibility, or preacher, What do you mean? because now you're at a place where you're worrying and you think that you can help God, you think that you have some responsibility in the matter, Amen. I'm just gonna help God alone a little bit. I think I can give him a helping hand, Right? When the song says, turn it over to Jesus, and He will work it up. See, some of us are in the place where we are with our problems, situations and circumstances,

because we

refuse to let them go.

If you want God to truly lean down, and then that means you gotta take your hands off of it. As long as you're holding on to it, God can do nothing with it a man, We must be concerned with the right things, the ultimate issues of life, and leave the management over material things

with our Heavenly Father, who is

the manager. You See, we also prefer heaven

and heaven. it blesses,

far before Earth and Earthly Delights. Yeah, I know it feels good to put on the new suit, And as well as the new shoes. But again, material things are temporary. material, things will fade away. The Bible says that it will fade away. It also tells us that only what you do for Christ will be Count In the end. And we and we see

here in a text Jesus,

He says it more than one time, he says he said don't don't worry about what you're going eat. Don't worry about what you're going to drink, And what you're going to wear what you're going to put on, because you are worried about those things that are called minute, miniscule that they have no value. Amen. Because the value is what's in your heart. Some I don't say amen. So we see that there can be a certain anxiety when it comes to giving in to work. Jesus is trying to teach not only his disciples, but all the people who were there on the Mount, that worry is a part that you can't hold on to, that you gotta be able to let go up. So then we find Jesus given us the argument against worry, the argument against worry. And he simply begins by posing a question.

He says,

The birds are provided for Right, right. The birds are provided for by God. And if he takes care of them, Surely, we can expect that he will take care of us. You See, the birds don't worry about what they going eat. But guess what the birds do work. They don't just sit with open mouths expecting God

to feed them

somebody's gonna catch their See. The Bible tells us in James the second chapter 28 verse that faith without works, is dead. Amen. So there is some work that has to be done on your part. It was the birds just can't sit there be fed, and you know, you gotta work. But The main point is, is that God will take care of them, as well as you. But It's interesting to note that the worry we have over material things

in this life is rooted

in a low understanding of our value before God.

Amen. You see, sometimes we don't comprehend

how much he loves, and cares for us. Let me tell you a secret. God has this thing called

unconditional love,

Okay. And whether you know it or not, you are unable to possess it without him. So If you are offering unconditional love, it is a Guppy love. It is a godly love. And this love is great. Because if you just turn with me over to john 316, it will say that For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. You see that that's a simple verse. Because he all he said you had to do was believe that his love was so powerful, that all he did was give you one thing to do, right? To confess with your mouth and believe in your heart. And then in First Peter five and seven, it tells us

that He cares

for you.

The argument is

simple, because worrying accomplishes nothing. We can add nothing to our lives by worrying. And see if God is concerned with the grass of the field, then certainly he will take care of you. You never see grass, That ain't water by the rain. Because God brings the rain to the earth. Who better to understand the true value of present things? Then he who made us and who supports us, who has brought us from a mighty long way, Who knows our thoughts of for all who know where you're going before you get there. Amen. Who better to support us, then this God. So Jesus gives us a great argument against word. But then we also find that he doesn't stop there. He gives us what I call the assurance Not to worry. in your spare time, you can read the same text as it parallels in the Gospel according to St. Luke, the 12 chapter, in a 31 verse, you'll find these same words, and it says But seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. You See, this must be the rule of our life, When we're ordering our priorities, We need to replace worry was a concern for the kingdom. You see, if we spent more time living to please God, and work out Salvation, we will spend less time trying to please our sales and work out in a state in this world. Because he said that my father's house, There are many mansions. If it was not, so I wouldn't have told you. So if you were left up to me, I'd rather have my mentioned on the other side, then trying to get it on this side. You see, this first demands a commitment to not only fine, but also to do the will of God, to align yourself totally with his purpose. And this commitment, church comes first, This commitment should be your number one priority. So whatever your engagements in life, be, Remember that you have a prior one. And whatever relationship you have in this world with man, never forget, you have a higher one. See, the surest is if you see God's kingdom first, all these things shall be added unto you. You see, God's kingdom will put the shame, Oh, the riches of this present world. And closing. Jesus says, Don't worry about tomorrow, Tomorrow will take care of itself. I don't know about you, but we have enough to deal with today to worry about tomorrow. Grace of God, you get to see tomorrow, and your problems, your circumstances, and your situation. And your trials and your sickness follow you tomorrow, Don't worry, because God is already there. So I'm stopping by to say simply, don't wear it and be happy, happy that you have assurance If you seek him first. And then all these other things will be added unto you. And then there will be eliminated from your vocabulary. If you don't mind. I just like to stop for a minute and pose one or two questions. Why should I feel discouraged? Why should the shadows calm? Tell me Why should my heart feel lonely and alone for heaven and home? When Jesus is my friend is he his eye is on the sparrow and I know he watches me

is on the sparrow. And I know he watches me. So I'm going to make a commitment. But Don't worry, be happy happen in Jesus alone. Because first He saved me. Then he picked me up out of the muck and mire and lifted me to a brand new plane. He changed my life. And as long as I can look to the Hill, from whence cometh my help, There's no need to worry. There's No need Fucking sir. Cuz I'm going to put my hand in the master's hand and let him lead me, guide me and take me all the way. So I want to encourage you to eliminate worry from your vocab vocabulary. Don't Let it be in your dictionary. Don't let it come up in your face. Don't let it rise up in your situation. Just be reminded that God got you and God Got it. No matter if you're sick. If you're hurting right now. Maybe a problem on the other side or no need to worry Cuz God said in his word. I never leave you or forsake you. And you can take that to the bank. Don't worry, be happy.

Be happy.

Yeah.

Be Happy. Happy in Jesus. Oh, happy cuz he saved me and made me

happy.
