Hello everybody. My name is Deborah from Homage, and today we will be doing a video on mobility aids and wheelchairs. So today's video is all about how this kind of mobility aids and wheelchairs can help different walks of life from active, semi active to people who are immobile. So we're here at Home Care Shop, and they're the largest chain store in Malaysia for home care equipments. And so let's go without further ado. So today I'm here with Vivian. She's the area manager for Home Care Shop, and she will be explaining to us about different types of equipments they have. So Vivian, you know I have a grandmother and she always goes grocery shopping on her own sometimes. And then when she's standing in line, you know during MCO, you see the cashier line in Tesco or Jaya Grocer so you see like everyone lining up. Very long. So, what is the type of equipment you think would be good for somebody who is active. Who loves to go for walks, for morning walks like her, but she's a bit weak also because she's like 70 years.
Okay, this is the two equipments that are highly recommend for those independent people. Active but a little bit for elderly people, little bit weak. So it's like you say, like your grandmother, like to go grocery or garden party by herself. So this is a rollator. Hightly recommended. So four wheel rollator, just like walking frame but come with four wheels, so you can wheel by yourself. Give you a better support. This is the second one is this is a called that- you can call push chair or transport wheelchair. So this model one of the top item- our sellable item in Home Care Shop. And also one of the lightest in the world, I would say that
How light is it?
Less than 10 kg. 8 point- 7.8 kg for size 16 and 18 would be 8.3kg.
Okay, so usually how heavy is a wheelchair?
For those like traditional wheelchair, it's about 20kg.
Wow. 20kg okay. So, this is almost like half the size or the weight of the model.
So next, we would like to show you a demonstration of the benefits and also the features of these two equipments. So so ini rollator kan? Apa fungsi dia atau kebaikan rollator? So we're asking Su what the benefits are and also like how it can help seniors.
Dia memudahkan perjalanan setiap orang tua and then bagi mereka yang sakit, dia boleh duduk sekejap like this and lock brakes
Okay. So Su was saying that she can. You can use this to walk and also sit down. When you sit down you can also brake. The rollator's amazing.
100kg person.
100kg okay.
So the rollator can fold like this.
Oh, it's foldable.
And very light, 5.5kg. Also can put walking stick here.
So Vivian here will explain about this travel wheelchair. So what are the benefits for this?
Okay. One of the- this- the benefit of it is ultra lightweight because it made by aircraft -inaudible] Then second one is extremely compact. So, later I will show you how it- how compact is it. Then second one is user friendly. It is a easier to handle on it. So I will show you pictures and you have to close it. So before you close, either you can brake or we lock it befor eyou brake- you fold. So you pull up the seat in the middle. And this one- this is the handle, this is a foldable handle. So the purpose is for you to easier to keep in the car, which is shorter. That's why we call extremely compact. So only one hand you can handle it.
Wow, one hand only.
Where to open it, you just open the handle first untul you hear the crick-crack sound. After that, two hand put on top of the seat and just push. That's it. Then can push already
So, thank you Vivian for explaining about the rollator and also this travel chair. So, um, really appreciate that. We would know better about what equipments are more advantage of- for people who are active as well. So not just people who are like just sedentary or semi active. Next, in the next video, we'll be talking about semi active group, meaning people who may be at home, not really doing anything, but they also require help for let's say post-hospitalisation. So thank you Vivian for this time.
