really right out in the open and then just last second thing on the sun. So you know it was it was kind of too late to call for help or anything but I try my best put my hand up have my glasses on, try to get the angle but just right in the middle of the sun.
Kind of got it a little bit from the fans and you gave it back a little bit of Dougie came over and talk to you. They were able to calm it down and get back, refocused quickly or sort of what happened there.
Yeah, I was just talking to do again. Do you just came over and just kind of patting me on the back and said, Hey, man, don't worry about it. Like we all have those days.
What's it mean to have a teammate come to you quickly and sort of help you in that moment?
Means a lot. Yeah, you know, you know, you think that you're alone out there when stuff like that happens, and then you realize that other guys have done it like Tommy Pham told me he's like, I have three some balls in Cincinnati and they're just kind of telling me like it happens even though you think you're the only one that's ever happened to
with the fan never said something you should avoid in order to not do that. We're talking about going back and forth with the fan.
Oh, yeah, they just happen to be throwing like little ball caps at me. and stuff. So I just tell them to stop throwing in and one of the ushers came over and just told him to stop. So it was their own stuff. Yeah, just like little bottle caps, but nothing, nothing major. So the long run from Tommy today and how much do you think those guys are going to help you in your postseason push? Though they're really going to help me there. They're two absolute studs. You know they've made their presence known right away. So it's, it's awesome to see those guys do their work.
You're obviously still learning centerfield from haven't been a second baseman is more difficult to do to the big league level.
I mean, everything's more difficult to do. At the big league level. You know, just you know, I'm just learning my craft you know, and just working each day coming here busting my butt and doing what I can do.
You said you put you put your hand up, or your gloves or doesn't matter.
Usually when I put your bare hand up, I mean, I tried to put it up like this on kind of turn my back to it. But you know, it was just right in the middle of the sign. When you start the sign, you know, you get those little floaties in your eyes, which is tough one
family practice.
Yeah, you practice it and then you end up getting hit in the forehead for for looking at the sun.
It's kind of game experience and yeah, just
kind of get lucky maybe sometimes catching it or something.
Obviously, frustration after a game like that. And you've been through moments like that. What have you learned about yourself? What can you draw from here to keep your confidence where it needs to be?
I mean, I'm not doing much good for myself, but you know, I have have teammates that are helping me keep me positive and stuff. So it's always helpful to have guys like that. Jarren Duran after
