All right, thank you. We're gonna reconvene from recess. Apologies for having an extended recess. Do we have Mr. Tipton on the line?
We do not have Mr. Tipton on the line
you please Newlands. I'm going to Try
recording stopped
recording in progress. All right. Thank you. Thank you for your patience. As you might imagine this is has been a very complex process. That has not or did not begin recently it begun several years ago when we're finally at a point where I think thorough work has been done to pre screen candidates to interview candidates and ultimately to select candidates. So I will give a very brief update the scoring and I will identify whether the score was provided or not by members of this committee. The next step will be if there is a motion to recommend a candidate to the full body that will occur after I read all the scores that were submitted. So please be patient with with this as also as next steps and in line with HR policy and procedure. These collective scores and individual scores will be sent directly to city HR for for their files. Any questions from commissioners, before we move forward? Hearing none, we will begin with BOARD SECRETARY FOR board secretary. As a point of note, I received scores from myself. Commissioner Linda Barnard Commissioner Brian Ferguson, Commissioner Annie Holt submitted scores perform the public that Commissioner Burton decided to abstain from submitting any scoring for both Secretary and Chief Investigator but we will we'll move forward. The scoring and these are an average score because we asked five questions per candidate and I'm being entirely transparent, because we asked five questions per candidate. This is an average score of the individual rating per question against the five question total. So for candidate and these are my scores is commissioner has who's Hernandez for candidate. Monet. And I want to say first name and last name Miss Brenda Monet. The score is an average score of three or candidate Victoria Shaw from myself. average score of 3.8 and four candidate Underwood, Robin Underwood, the average score is 3.8 as well. I will now move into the submitted score sheet for Commissioner Bernard report Secretary they are as follows four candidates Brenda Monet, average score of one for Commissioner Bernard for candidate Victoria Shaw, the average score of five for Commissioner Bernard for candidate Robin Underwood, an average score of one or Commissioner remark. Moving forward again I'm going to restate and this is alphabetical order. I'm going to restate that Commissioner Burton did not submit a scoring sheet. He decided to abstain from submitting any kind of scoring for both board secretary and chief investigator. So moving ahead to Commissioner Ferguson. For BOARD SECRETARY candidate Brenda Monae average score of two candidate Victoria Shaw average score of 1.6. That is for Commissioner burden, or Ferguson rather sorry for candidate Robin Underwood, an average score of 3.6. Moving ahead to Commissioner Holt, in her submission, or candidate Brendan Monae an average score of 3.8 or candidate Victoria Shaw an average score of 4.8. And for this Robin Underwood an average score of 4.4. That will cover the full score sheets submitted by members of this committee or board secretary. Are there additional comments or discussion that we'd like to have in reference to any of the candidates that I just mentioned, and their subsequent score? If no commentary if no discussion, is there a motion
to
recommend for board secretary
either of these candidates
and again, I've read the average scores to you. You've written down these average scores.
Is there a motion?
I move based on the scores that were submitted by the personnel training committee that
Victoria show?
moves to the move as a candidate for secretary to the board of police commissioners before the full board?
Second, there is a second any discussion? Hearing none, we will do a roll call vote. Mr. Brown, could you please conduct the roll call for us?
Yes. Of course has been mandated. Yes. Commissioner Ferguson. Yes. Commissioner hope? Yes,
Mr. Chair. The motion passed.
Motion passes. The recommendation will be adopted to provide to the full board, the candidacy of Victoria Shaw for board secretary. I just as a moment of commentary, I'm just appreciative of, again, the diligence and you know, from start to finish the support that this committee has provided, ultimately, to be able to fill these two positions. We're not quite there to the finish line. Again, we have to submit to the full body and have ultimately their adoption of an upcoming motion. So thank you again. We're not yet finished with this. We will move forward to chief investigator and I will follow the same exact process that we did for board secretary starting with score for myself a sushi Fernandez or candidate Courtney Blake's an average score of 4.24.
Candidate Paul Lilly,
an average score of 4.4 or candidate Jerome Warfield an average score of 4.4 and that is for myself, for Commissioner Bernard Courtney Blake's candidate Courtney Blake's an average score of 1.4. For candidate Paul Lily and average score of five and four candidate Jerome Whitfield, no score, or Commissioner burden again, I will remind the public Commissioner Burton decided to abstain from submitting any scoring for both BOARD SECRETARY as well as chief investigator. Moving on to Commissioner Ferguson. Candidate Courtney Blake's and average score of 2.8. Candidate Paul Lilly an average score of 3.8. Candidate Jerome Warfield an average score of 3.6.
Moving on to Commissioner Holt
ended it Courtney Blake's an average score of 4.2 candidate Paul Lilly, an average score of 4.9. Candidate Jerome Warfield an average score of five is there any additional commentary regarding either of these candidates for chief investigator that were interviewed today? I will say one comment, and it's not directed at any particular candidate. I think we saw the quality of the candidates that applied for Chief Investigator they all come with an array of experiences and each could bring very unique perspectives to the Officer Chief Investigator. I feel very strongly that having someone with experience who may not be of the community could be both a benefit and a deterrent. And so I asked that we consider that when making a motion or deciding but again, that is my my opinion and I reserve it as such, any additional commentary? Hearing none, is there a motion to recommend either of these candidates to the full board for Chief investing?
I move that we move
your own work field
as a candidate for chief investigator to be voted on by the school board.
Okay. Is there any discussion? Hearing none,
Mr. Brown, could you do a roll call vote
yes. Chairperson and then Nope. Commissioner Ferguson?
Yes, Mr. Hall, Yes.
Motion passed with a two to one vote.
Thank you, sir. Again, as a point of clarity, the tally of votes by majority will move in the form of a recommendation for the candidacy of Mr. Jerome. Warfield for chief investigator to the full body for adoption. If there are no other items because that closes out or or new business announcement sir Mr. Brown.

Do we have any public comment?
Mr. Chair at this time, I don't see any hand raised.
All right. We will I mean, I'll give it about 30 seconds if anyone does raise their hand and wants to give public comment now would be the time to use that function on Zoom to raise your hand
and we will unmute one from Commissioner Davis. All right.
Let me put a two minute timer and I will start
and two seconds.
Is as former Commissioner Davis unmuted Yes, sir. Can you hear us sir? Yes, I can. Thank you. You have two minutes, sir.
Okay, I'd like to say that I'm dissatisfied with the process. I think it should be more inclusive. I thought that you should have at least brought three candidates for each title to the full board. I think this is diminishes the whole process. I have no problem with the two people that are advancing. I think I know both of them. I think they have outstanding capabilities. But I think this process is flawed and highly questionable. And I think this board opens up itself to potential lawsuits.
Thank you. Thank you, sir.
I always appreciate when you give public comment. Is there anyone else?
Mr. Chair at that time, that was the only Speaker All right.
Offer German
I'm a little bit weird. You're second.
