Welcome back to another city times broadcast a men's basketball between the 21 in force zesty city knights and the 15 and 10 at Miramar College as I am Joe Fanning and with me today and tonight is Trey Shahnaz good. That is new. Nice. Nice to see you.

It's great to be here. I'm glad to be Carson game. Yep. Very

exciting. It is the second to last home game between for the Knights this season and they're trying to improve on their league tide leading conference record of 12 and one against the Jets. The Jets have had a good season as well boasting a tenant three conference record and hoping to extend their winning streak to three. These teams battled close early this season. The Knights won 58 to 54 at Miramar in a close battle, Shawn, the Jets pose a threat they're going to take could possibly spoil the Knights chances at winning the conference this year as they're tied at the top. What do what should SD focus on to avoid the death from playing spoil?

You know, game was pretty close last time, one by four. I guess. shooting from the field definitely got to be a lot more precise. Last game it was 38 from City College and three point percentage wasn't as well. As wasn't as good as well. We had 13% coming out compared to Miramar shooting 45% from the field and 26 from three. So I guess just those possessions, making sure they count. Getting those rebounds, making sure turnovers turnovers are a little our turnovers are in check sorry.

Yeah, but gotta take advantage of opportunities yeah and a little bit more effective, more efficient way. Couldn't agree more. The Knights are being slowed down by the defense I think Miramar would like it that way that's what the game was quite close, neither team scored over 60 points last time 58 to 54 and it looks like that's what the strategy remains to be hear from the Jets says game goes into half the Knights are doing what you asked them to do which is to get bit baskets in and perform better from the field 48% from the field for the night 60% from 350 7% from the free throw while it's just 40% for the Jets 20% from three and 44% from the free throw rebounds are even 19 to 18 offensive rebounds as well. And the turnovers the Knights actually leading in that category this time as opposed to last match I believe that 17 takeaways were only given up about nine turnovers so nine to six

I think a big part of that is that those transitions from defense to offense they want to get those quick looks to get something under the basket but just either throwing it away or accidentally giving it to the giving it to the Jets instead. So definitely just want to slow that pace down there. They're leading by six so you just want to extend that lead slowly while also getting some good defensive stops to get the Jets looking frustrated and soon as that happens then that little just increase.

They haven't been going down but the defense I think from Miramar is probably the best thing or is the you know is what's notable coming from their side of the ball All in the takeaways leading and takeaways and turnovers.

Yeah, they've been. They've been switching from man to zone to try to stop city from being able to get in the passing lanes easy and just dumping good looks. And I think it's been working in some places in some places it hasn't. But definitely when, if the Knights start cooking up right now though, they can extend this lead because they got the size difference out of the paint. It's just getting a good look to those big guys and just letting them get a free layup or two under the basket.

And what's going on around the PCAC right now there's four games total playing play tonight three others besides this one Palomar is leading San Diego Mesa by 26 with 30 seconds left in the second half. Southwestern and Cuyamaca are playing currently we don't have any updates on that Grossmont and Mira Costa are in a tight game or a relatively tight game 72 to 81 don't know if that's the final or don't have any more info on that San Diego city and of course is here at Leading six at half.
