Welcome to Louisiana Lefty, a podcast about politics and community in Louisiana, where we make the case that the health of the state requires a strong progressive movement fueled by the critical work of organizing on the ground. Our goal is to democratize information, demystify party politics, and empower you to join the mission, because victory for Louisiana requires you.
I'm your host, Lynda Woolard. We're on winter break for January, and we'll return in February for our third season. In the meantime, we'd like to encourage you to check out our website at LouisianaLefty.Rocks. I'll post that link in the episode notes for you.
On our homepage, you'll always find the most recent episode of the podcast, as well as links to all the podcast platforms where you can find us.
On our Archives page, you can go back and find any episode you've missed, as well as the notes from each episode, in case you need links to any of the resources mentioned by that week's guest.
On our Recommended Resources page, we continue to list specific resources we think are critical to progressive and democratic organizing and campaigning. In particular, I want to highlight the documentary, The Brainwashing of My Dad, from the Watch List, as essential viewing to understand the right wing forces we're facing. This includes a history lesson that offers important context as we hit the first anniversary of the January 6th Insurrection. If you've not seen this film, it's a must see, and there are several streaming options.
Finally, the key elements on our Contact page are the link to our Organizer of the Month gallery on the Bayou Brief, and the link to the form to nominate your favorite organizer. We will continue to uplift the work of organizers in 2022. You can keep up with our awardees as soon as they're announced if you're following us on any of our social media platforms. See this week's episode notes for our links to Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
Thanks for listening, and as always, thanks to producer Ben Collinsworth, designer Jen Pack, and Louisiana Lefty theme song band Thousand $ Car.
