Thank you very much for having me. As you can see, it's raining outside, so hopefully, not too much the rain got on me, but I made it
can barely notice. Congressman, I have to get your thoughts to people recently arrested by the FBI in New York for conspiring with the CCP to essentially operate a secret police station. You're concerned you've expressed concern that this is happening well beyond New York in places throughout the country, even in your home state of Nebraska. What can you tell us?
Well, they call it a Chinese service center. It's located in Omaha, Nebraska. It's odd to me that in the middle of the country, you know, we're talking about San Francisco, New York, you have to remember that in Omaha, we run the world's nuclear triad for the United States Armed Forces. So off air force base is home to STRATCOM, where we have 10,000 airmen and women that are working around the clock, not only in global surveillance, but also in operate in our nation's nuclear triad. That's the bombers, the ICBM missiles, and then the nuclear submarines. So we're a strategic headquarters for the United States armed forces and to have one of these Chinese service centers in our backyard in Omaha, Nebraska, tells you how aggressive and omnipresent the Chinese want to be in every community in America. And it's startling, it concerns a lot of Nebraskans. It should concern everybody in America, that they're penetrating that far into the middle of our country.
You're absolutely right, Congressman, and it did remind you of these Confucius Institutes that have popped up around the country, many which have been shut down, where, you know, they take on these innocent, benign names, but what's actually happening there in through them is totally different.
And imagine being in the United States, and maybe your homeland is in China, you've emigrated to the United States, they're keeping an eye on every single one of these folks, and they are pressuring them, you know, to to induce certain behaviors in the United States, which should concern all of us, we couldn't do this in China, they're taking advantage of our open system in America, and what they're doing is systemic. And it's a problem. It's not just spy balloons. It's not just a Huawei equipment that they're using to spy on Americans and get data. It's the fact that they're buying up real estate around Air Force bases like mine, not North Dakota, and they are working in every way they can to undermine the legitimacy of our country and to you know, achieve their goal of being the world's sole superpower.
Congress, whenever they're asked you this has been going on for quite some time. Our intel community has been aware of it maybe not to the extent that you're explaining but certainly aware of it. Why do you think that this has been allowed to just kind of percolate? Well,
I really don't think it sounds crazy. But that spy balloon over America, I think woke up a lot of Americans as to what was actually happening, that that could be something that that could happen. We have celebrated the peace dividend from the Cold War. And you know, what happened with the dismantling of the Soviet Union? I think for a long time, we've just taken for granted this status we have as Americans not understanding that, well, America is prospering. The Chinese Communist Party is not only working to you know, dominate the world in the world economy, but they're systematically trying to overtake us our navy or Air Force, they're building nuclear weapons, they're building an armaments that should scare every American as to the future of our country and what's happening. And as soon as that balloon happened, it's like all of a sudden, all of these Nebraskans that, I think, maybe took our peace and security for granted started to think what is really happening with China. And how did they do this under our nose for so long? I I've asked for a briefing from the FBI about the Chinese Communist Party service center in Omaha. I haven't had that briefing yet, but I'm I'm really looking forward to learning about what they've been doing in Nebraska and across the nation.
Carson, you've raised concerns over Chinese, the Chinese Communist Party's human rights abuses on the House floor, you mentioned the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and just the totalitarian nature of the CCP, May 13. Is world fallen off a day? What would you say to the millions of Falun Gong practitioners around the world and the ones that are being persecuted? We hear
you. We know what the Chinese Communist Party is doing. Stay strong. You need to know that in America, we recognize the human rights abuses perpetrated by the Chinese Communist Party. And it's part of a bigger message that we need to get around to the rest of the world and to consumers everywhere that are buying China. These products, understanding what's happening forced labor, all the persecution that the people are suffering under the hands of the Chinese Communist Party. And it is something that we're working on and we're well aware of
