is now minus two and up in Vail where I was winds are 90 miles an hour in the ski area shut down. So it's like Are you crazy so here I am, you know all bundled up it's just cold as whatever but are welcome and warm embrace to all of you. I can't tell you how excited I am but my family is still here so I can't stay very long. But I definitely wanted to come on and first of all a big warm welcome to all of you for doing this. This is a magnificent, generous contribution by Bodhi Chelsea Katie and of course, Alyssa to really augment the infrastructure to these nocturnal meditations, which is induction alright, I mean, we don't have lucidity than lucid dreams, so really a little bit harder to bring onto the path. So I simply wanted to come on for a few seconds to extend the warmest of welcome to all of you. I will try to show up for these like I do with Dr. Ed's wonderful program. And I see Dr. Ed there. That's really great. Our sleep doctor, that's really wonderful. I'll try to show up for these when I can. But this is one of the this is such a fruition of aspiration behind the whole myClub Charter, which at this point, I think is maybe five years old, where we have the self arising self emergent, very gifted people that come from within the ranks, so to speak, and make an offering of this scale and so I can't tell you how personally excited I am. That you know we continue to reach these levels of fruition and maturation, and I know these wonderful people and they're extraordinarily talented and gifted. And so what they're going to be offering here is like beyond beyond cool. So big one welcome to everybody. I gotta go upstairs and stoke the fireplace and say goodbye to my families are heading out the door. But again, just big, big warm embrace to all of you. Thank you guys so much for doing this to the community or for the community. I personally am super grateful. And so all the best with the inaugural show you guys
Thank you, Andrew. Hi everybody. It's so good to see some familiar faces and some new faces here. We're so happy to be hosting this. We just wanted to take a few minutes at the beginning to introduce ourselves so my name is Chelsea waves. I live in northern New Mexico and Santa Barbara California, our time and also just mention a lucidity induction technique that I love. And for me I'm really enjoying the daytime practices at this moment. So next would be Katie.
Hello everyone. I'm so delighted to see all of you here. My name is Katie love and I live in northern New Mexico. And a lucidity induction technique that I am currently loving is the the Lotus practice chasing the Red Lotus in the throat. Od you're muted, you're still muted.
Oh, I'm Bodie Mac and I also live in northern New Mexico. And my favorite technique is also daytime practices. I get best results with like setting an alarm on my watch for like every 15 minutes. That it's hard, hard to always do. But that's my best results so far. You and so we'd like to invite you, all of you right now, to go ahead and just, you know drop your name and your location and maybe your favorite induction technique into the chat right now. So just take a moment maybe do that for us so we can can connect with you know a little bit more about you. And if it's your first time or something there you you're just getting into dream lucid dreaming and stuff. Like that. No worries. Just let us know, hey, you're curious or whatever. So we invite you to do that right now.
All right. All right. So I'm going to share a little bit about how we're going to be holding the space this time together. So the first portion of the gathering will be the three of us sharing about lucidity, induction techniques, and the time left will be for questions and conversation between us for the open portion of the time together if you can use the raise your hand function if you have something to share or contribute. And before you share, we encourage you to just take a pause on one breath meditation and to just check in with your yourself and ask yourself how is the question or contribution going to benefit the group and also just wanted to reiterate that these are recorded. So next, we have Katie who's going to share our overarching intention.
Thank you Chelsea. So I'm going to share a slide with you all okay, can everybody see that? Great. So we want to open the group was sharing what our overarching intentions are for the lucidity induction group. And part of the reasoning behind this is that we believe in the field effect, which is that when there is a group of people that is practicing together, learning together and has a shared intention, that it actually expands the intention exponentially. Beyond what it would be if it was just one person doing that. So we created these intentions for the lucidity induction group and we invite you all to hold these intentions with us if you feel resonant with them. So that we can generate that field effect within this group. So our first intention is to expand our lucidity in dreaming life and waking life alike. To explore and practice a variety of lucidity, induction techniques and to engage with a community of people dedicated to lucidity. And we also are wanting to bring the feeling and the emotion into this intentionality with each other. And so the feeling and the emotion field that we were wanting to create for this group includes joy, devotion, and lightheartedness. So if you feel in resonance with that we invite you to join us in this intention as we launch this first group. And this is our first time the three of us together doing this offering this group so we're so grateful for your presence and your participation and your contributions into this space.
Ate and so I also just wanted to share that the when it comes to lucid dreaming and Dream Yoga practice. It said that the preliminaries are more important than the main practice. So everything that we're doing from a foundational perspective, the ground that we're building upon which the lucidity will be born, is what we really want to focus on and put a lot of attention on first. So for the purposes of today's group, we're going to be sharing some foundational practices. And we're going to start with the first foundational practice which is belief. And Bodhi is going to talk and share about belief.
All right. So before I do that, just want to say thank you for putting your your information in the chat where you're from I thought places all over. There's like 70 plus people on on this today. That's just fantastic. So what an amazing amount of, of a circle of the energy that we can create with this. And I really look forward to how this momentum is going to pick up and what we're going to be able to do with this with our lucid dreaming. So thank you for for doing that. Let us know where you're from and your techniques that you like or and stuff. So, going to the basics. We're starting out with the very basics, what do you need to get rolling and stuff like that so that we can go into further, you know, different kinds of techniques. Of course, there's 1000s of techniques and stuff like that, that we could be exploring for a long time. But just the basics. Yeah, we're just starting out with belief. One of the basic things you need to and it was so good to read about that in Andrews workbook, and his lucid dreaming workbook page 55. He means belief Hey, this is this is essential. So you know he he talked about, hey, we have a common expression that hey, I'll I'll believe it. When I see it. And you hear that? You know, a lot. You know, we're growing up. And, you know, that's kind of really formed a lot of like our science and things like that. But taking that and being able to turn that around and going hey, I'll, I'll see it when I believe it. And that's so powerful. And that's what you know, we'd like to step into, and and offer that as, hey, belief is is really important. And it has really helped me out with with my lucid dreaming because, you know, starting out younger and hearing about lucid dreaming, you know, back in the 80s it was being you know, started to be talked about and and and I was like what's that and so hearing about it inspired me to the Okay, I must be able to do it. So belief was so important right at the beginning. So I think that you know, if we just consider that and if, if there's lucid dreaming, you're still working on it. You're you're still trying to step into that or, or become deeper in it like for me, Katie and Chelsea in our small dreams circle that we've had, they've inspired me i, i they'd say something were or tell me a lucid dream. And I'm, I'd be like, I didn't know you could do that. You can do that in a lucid dream. They're like, Oh, yeah. So that gave me the belief that wow, I can also do this. So then I would put that as my intention. And then I'd find out wow, I can do that too. So. So that belief is what really starts off the process there. So so just naming that and we'll go on to the next one.
That's me. I'm going to share a little bit about meditation and thank you so much. For sharing about belief. Bodie. I'm so I just want to start off by saying with lucidity. I found that being really gentle with ourselves is really important. Being really are kind to ourselves. I saw in the chat that people have been striving to do this. Some people for a while and yeah, just just as with meditation, it's similar being kind to ourselves as we're in meditation, being kind to ourselves as we're going through these lucid dreaming practices and exploring lucid dreaming. So one reason we're not lucid to our dreams at night is because we're not lucid to the contents of our mind during the day. I'm going to just let that sit for a second before I go any further. So we get lost in dreams the same way we get lost in thought. And if we think about a non lucid thought it's one that we're not aware of, kind of like Andrew gives us great example of like ion on a news channel, you know, and there's like a running banner at the bottom and it just keeps on like giving updates. That's kind of how our thoughts can move through our mind, right? If we're not aware of it, and then the first time we tap into that, it can be like, Whoa, these are a lot of thoughts. Just like that banner is a lot of information to take in at once. So I'm going to tell you what a lucid thought it's a lucid thought is when you recognize that you're thinking which instantly transforms it. A non lucid thought into a lucid one. So recognition and liberation are simultaneous. So if we can recognize we're in a non lucid thought, we're in a non lucid dream. We can turn it into a lucid dream we can turn it into a lucid thought and meditation can help us do this. And there have actually been studies done that say that meditators have more lucid dreams so I started to talk about this a little bit at the beginning, which is at the core of meditation is acceptance, accepting whatever arises. So we become aware through meditation, what is happening in our body, our thoughts, our emotions, our feelings. And we accept them, we befriend ourselves and it's not about stopping the thoughts, right? It's about changing the relationship to the thoughts. So meditation can give us a space in which we can change our relationship to our thoughts by getting to know them. So I'm going to do a guided short guided meditation for us and if you haven't meditated before, or if you have, I invite you just to step into the present moment with all of us into this field effect, which can also be present in meditation. And if you notice that your mind is racing, or there's lots of thoughts, do your best just to tap into the curiosity and the kindness and the compassion, of maybe just saying, Wow, that's amazing. Like look at all these thoughts. Like you're noticing the thoughts, right? And by noticing the thoughts, you're becoming more aware of them and by becoming more aware of them. You can be more compassionate and kind which can open up the space for the space to be created between the thoughts. So as we go into the short guided meditation, I'm just going to invite you to find a comfortable position, either seated or laying down. Whatever your body is asking for in this moment, and I'm going to close my eyes because I can get distracted by looking at all of your beautiful faces. And I invite you to look either to close your eyes or if you want to keep them open to look away from the screen. And if you're going to keep them open, which is a great practice for post meditation then just keep them lowered. Right now. Just settling into your bodies. You can lean forward and lean back a little bit. Side to side just kind of finding your center and your seat. Placing your hands on your thighs. Not too far or not too close to your body. Just comfortably midway
just noticing having an open front, right and a strong back so feeling our heart open to the present moment. And as we feel more comfortable in our bodies, more present with our bodies. We're going to start to notice our breath so just begin to notice it without changing it for right now.
And I'm gonna invite us to just notice the breath and our bellies. And also just to relax a little bit more. I starting at the top of the head slowly moving down. Gonna head or neck or shoulders. releasing tension along the way all the way down to our seat. Legs and our feet just noticing where we're touching the earth
as we go back to a breath we're gonna inhale to the count of four together, we can or on your own. So 1234 and then out the same count or three to one and then on your own a couple of times and how to the count of four and exhale to the count of four.
And if a thought arises well you are touching into your body and your breath. You can say to yourself wake up this is not a reprimand as thoughts are the children of our minds. This is simply a recognition
touching it lightly like a feather touching a bubble or a cloud moving through the sky of awareness
being kind and gentle and curious with whatever is arising.
Our hearts if that feels right for you
accepting whatever is present in your body right now. And your thoughts and your emotions and your feelings it's all welcome here
just like a non lucid thought during the day once we recognize it, it can come we can become lucid
no reawakening coming back into our bodies by you to just take some deeper breaths
feeling the field here, a fellow lucid dreamers let's listen to the community
and if you have your eyes closed when you're ready, gently open them and take your time
thank you everybody for joining me in that. I hope it inspires you to meditate or if you're able to during this month, this container to meditate for 10 minutes each day either in the morning or in the evening. Or both. If you feel so inspired it can be really supportive to meditate in the evening. Even though you can feel tired, right? It's surprising I thought that I would feel really tired meditating at night before going to sleep. And it actually really calmed me down. So I recommend giving it a try if you haven't, and just remember to surrender to the simplicity of this practice. And now we have Katie love it and she's going to talk about intention.
Thank you Chelsea. That was a lovely meditation. I appreciate it. Yeah, so the third foundational practice that we're going to discuss today is intentionality, creating a strong intention for your lucidity. And so intentionality is for me one of the key foundational practices that I do every night no matter what. So even if I'm really tired and I don't have time to fully do my practices. I will always set an intention because for me it's the most powerful foundational practice. Some even believe that intentionality alone is enough to spark lucidity on a consistent basis. I know and you one of his teachers has said that that's all that you need is intentionality and if it's strong enough and it's if the intention is created in a holistic way that that alone can spark lucidity. So I'm going to share with you some of the ingredients to creating a strong intention. And then I'm going to invite us to together create our strong intentions for the coming month. So what makes a strong intention? The first component is to choose words that you resonate with, and that you will remember and this is so that when you're speaking the intention you can feel it resonating with your whole being like you love the words that are chosen. And also so that you can revisit the intention multiple times throughout the day, from your memory and also strongly before you go to sleep. So when we revisit an intention multiple times throughout the day, what we're doing is we're in essence planting a seed into our minds that hopefully will awaken or sprout once we're in a dream. So by repeating the intention, I say at least seven times throughout the day. Then when we're in a dream hopefully that intention will actually come into the dream and spark our lucidity. And also if we do have our lucidity sparked hopefully intention will then also give us some guidance for what we do in the in the lucid space. So it can be fun to go into the lucid space become lucid and just decide in that moment what we want to do. But also sometimes it's nice to have a little bit of structure a little bit of container so that when we're in that space, there's a more clear direction. And I've found that setting the intention ahead of time. It can create more, more directionality in the dream because our dreaming consciousness and are awakened consciousness are different. They have different kind of personalities, if you will, to each other. So sometimes that that waking consciousness can help the dreaming consciousness by creating the container of the intention. So the next element of a strong intention is to connect it with a feeling or an emotion. When we're dreaming, we're very much in an emotional place. Our dreams are very much guided by our emotions that we have throughout the day and throughout our lives. And so putting emotion into your intention can help amplify the intention. So an example of this is one one way you can do it is actually seating the dream to have that emotion that you are wanting to experience. So for example, I love to fly and my lucid dreams I pretty much every lucid dream I have that's the first thing I do is fly. And so why do I love to fly because it makes me feel joyful. And light and and it makes me feel like it's magic. And so I would put those elements into my intention so that it would strengthen the intention. Another way of putting emotion into an intention is is if you have a really strong emotion that you're wanting to work with. So for example, if I'm feeling angry at a particular person or about a particular situation in life, I can create an intention to have that anger arise in a dream so that I can process the anger in the dream space. And if I become lucid, so that I can actually work with the anger and transform it. Whenever we're working in the dream space whenever we're doing in that space. It's like working with the tectonic plates. So small shifts in the dream space create massive shifts in the waking state. So working with our emotions in the dreams can be super powerful. Also, when we're connecting with feelings and emotions, in our intentions, we want to feel them in our heart. So we're bringing it not just in the head mind, but we're also bringing the intention into the heart mind and that also strengthens the intention another component that strengthens intention is creating your intention with the benefit of others in mind. So either doing this in such a way where you're creating the intention to enlighten yourself in the dream space, or you could even create an intention to be directly serving others in the dream space. So one example of enlightening yourself so that you can better serve others would be if I'm having a difficult time with a particular person. I'm not understanding them. I'm maybe repulsed by them or I'm challenged by them. I might create an intention to recreate that person in a dream. So become lucid in the dream and step into the shoes of that character and that person so that I can see the world through their eyes, and I can understand where they're coming from. And then I can start to have compassion for them, which will make that relationship smoother and easier for me with that person. An example of directly serving others within a dream could be becoming lucid in a dream and doing healing work with someone that you know or that you love. This could be just as simple as sending love to them or surrounding them with light. I do suggest if you do this kind of direct to work with people in a dream that you actually asked their permission either in the waking state or in the dreaming state so that there's a consent that's happening in terms of service. If the person is already clearly a constituent of yours, like you, you know you work with them directly as a client or in your life work, it might be appropriate, but still always great to ask for consent in the dream space. Another component to having a very strong intention is to choose a timeframe for your intention. So for the purposes of this group, we are doing monthly intentions because that's how often we're meeting. But I encourage you to also check in on a nightly basis and on a weekly basis and to see what's alive now. Because what I've found is that the strongest intentions are the ones that are really directly connected to whatever is alive in us whether it's a current experience we're having in life, whether it's something that we're really wanting to bring to the world, whatever it is having it be in the moment in real time, makes it a strong intention. So having an awareness about timeframe in that way, but also having an awareness about timeframe in terms of like how long you think it might reach or it might take to reach that intention. So for example, if I'm trying something that's really challenging and a lucid dream like one of the most challenging stages for me is Andrew stage seven, which is creating a special dream body and FedExing your consciousness to another location like a true out of body experience. So if I have that intention, I might give myself a longer time range for it. I might say okay, I'm going to, I'm going to spend a year focusing on this intention or month, whatever that is for me. And always with our intentions, let's remember to be not too tight and not too loose. So we want to have enough container and structure around the intention to have it feel held and to have it feel like we have a focus and a purpose. But we also want to have enough looseness and lightheartedness and gentleness with ourselves to where we don't become crystallized and become hard on ourselves if we're not achieving that intention. So the middle path, in terms of how we create our intentions is always the most supportive way to go.
And then also gratitude. So whatever we're experiencing in in the dream space in the waking state in terms of our lucidity, to be grateful and experienced joy for any, any positive effect that we have. So if we reach even just a little bit of our intention, or if we reach it one night out of seven or one night out of 20 to really celebrate that and to really relish and the joy and the gratitude for that experience. This creates a positive feedback loop in our minds so that we can continue to have more joy and we want to keep moving forward in the intentional path. And if we don't reach our intention to have compassion and kindness for ourself about that, and to renew the intention, perhaps remake it in a new way, or just reinvigorate it, strengthen it, so that we are keeping that focus but without a lot of rigidity to it.
Yeah, so those are my my elements for creating a strong intention. And I also invite each of you to feel into that for yourselves what, which of these elements resonates with you? Are there more that for you feel like would really make a strong intention for you personally. And my recommendations for this as a practice for the next month are to create an intention that you are enthusiastic about that it feels joyful. To pursue and that you revisit your intention at least seven times each day, and it can just be for 10 seconds. It doesn't have to be long, but so that you're peppering your day with that revisitation and that you revisit your intention right before you go to bed. So before you you know, right when you even like put your head on the pillow and are going to sleep have an intention be the last thought that you have before you go to sleep. Great. So we're just going to spend now a few minutes just journaling on intention. So I'm going to put up another slide as a prompt. And if you have a dream journal, you're welcome to get that out now, or just a piece of paper or your computer and I will put up the slide on intention
Okay, and these are just some questions to get you going. But I would say create it in your own way. If these questions resonate for you great if not do it in your own way. And the questions are, what is your lucidity intention for the coming month, including the emotional and feeling component? How will it serve or benefit others directly or indirectly? And what steps will you take to reach your intention being not too tight? And not too loose? So we're going to take five minutes now to do this all together and I will let you know when we're coming back.
Okay. We're back I hope you all got your intentions written and that you feel joyful and enthusiastic about them. And I did have a question in the chat which was, Can I repeat the first intentionality piece which was choosing words that resonate with you and that you will remember beautiful so now we are going to open up a space to all of you for any shares you might have about your intentions or any questions you might have or any comments, any contributions, whatever you would like. So Bodi is going to be facilitating this part.
All right, so just fantastic. It looks like somebody mentioned that we're at 108 participants for for this first time this first month of of opening up this offering that is so wonderful that so many of you have participated in shown up. So, so wonderful. So just to review, we're offering this month just to look at the three basic things of belief. Do you know do you have it? How strong is your belief? Do you need do you need to work on that? Do you Do you need some suggestions for books or want to talk about our experiences or other people's experiences that help will help your belief. The second thing is meditation that we we strongly believe that meditation is is really helpful for for bringing on the lucid dreams that you're wanting to have. And then the third thing is so powerful intention. So those are the three things this month. And so there's so many of you that in the chat that have mentioned Hey, you're just getting started. You just, you know you're just stepping into having that intention to have readings to be a lucid dreamer. So that's so wonderful. There's so many of you that are just embarking on this and and whatever we can do to help you. If we need to take some steps back or if you want to ask about what is it that we do what is it that inspires you know, got the wheels turning so you have you have your first lucid dream so so hang in there with you know, if you haven't had a lucid dream it's those these three things that we're bringing this week, this month, work on those. Also, if you haven't started a dream journal, highly recommend that and if you want to know more about that, you can ask that right now. So right now we're going to open it up to some questions and and by no means we're not like the experts, like you know, so the questions that probably should get to Andrew will leave that for, for when we have nightclub meetings for for where we can ask him those kind of questions. But you know if there's something that might help you you think hey, what if I just knew this or something, if we can help you out in any way. We're going to open it up right now to those questions. So does anyone have any questions that we might be able to help with?
Yeah, so we have some people with their hands raised. Can you see them? Bodie? Yeah, well, okay. Why don't you call? Okay, I just wanted to make sure. Um, so I did see that Louisa had their hand up. And I just want to make sure that you don't have a question anymore. You can give me a thumbs up or thumbs down. Thumbs down. Okay. Wonderful. So next, we have Ian, good to see you. Nice to see you too.
Thank you. And thank you all for doing this. It's it's wonderful. Really. I have two quick questions. One is for Katie. And it was about when you mentioned about asking permission before engaging in any I guess in in our dream if we wish to be of benefit or, you know, engage with someone you had suggested it's best to ask for permission. So I was just clarifying. That's the asking permission while we're lucid in the dream. Is that what you meant? So I'm in my dream, I want to actually do some kind of healing let's say bodhichitta or some kind of healing with someone in the dream. It's in the dream when I'm lucid, that I asked that permission. Is that what you meant? That was my first question? Yeah,
yeah. So I've actually done it both ways. If someone in my life that I feel you know, that's going through a suffering going through a hardship, then I might say, you know, if there's someone that's close to me, I might say, Would you be open to me doing some healing work with you in a lucid dream space? If it's someone that I'm not as closely connected with, then I'll do it actually in the lucid dream space like someone you know, if it's something that's more detached something that's happening farther away or situation in the world, I'll do it there just as a way of, yeah, really just making sure that that consent is there before I'm doing any action or offering something to someone if that makes sense. It
makes sense. It sparks a whole other, you know, a longer conversation, which but I'm going to reflect on that. So thank you. My second question is also for you, Katie, because you mentioned that in Andrews webinars, whatever it was stage seven or something that so i My question is really about there's so much on the nightclubs site. There are so many webinars, there's so many, so could you recommend. So there's this you know, plethora of richness. So could you recommend which one to begin with and just starting as because we're starting at the beginning. So which one is any particular webinar to start with the foundational so that I could work through this as we work through this as a larger collective?
Yeah, so I would have to look at I'd have to look at the webinars. I don't have them like memorized in my mind. That'd be great. But in general, his earlier stages of Dream Yoga are are easier to engage. So like flight, for example, or if you're someone like Chelsea swimming is easier than flight sometimes that more earthly beings will go lower like that. Working with putting your hands through walls, or dropping down into the earth like a mobile, those are considered a little bit simpler of the of the Dream Yoga stages. Also changing things in the dream. So you know, if you have an apple in your hand, you could say I want to change this into an almond or whatever. You're working with transformation in that way. Those are the simpler Dream Yoga stages, but that's actually Dream Yoga. So if we're just talking lucid dreaming, I would really stick with like, what your specific intentions are, what your joy is. Because initially when we're first starting lucid dreaming before we're going into the stages of Dream Yoga, working with what brings us the most playfulness, joy, happiness, is something that can really perpetuate the path and bring us deeper into building being able to access some of those more spiritual states.
Thank you. That's really helpful. I really appreciate that. Yeah,
absolutely. Yeah. My pleasure.
And I'm gonna plug it again. And if you don't have Anders, or everybody if you don't have Andrews lucid dreaming workbook. I put the link in the chat. It can also be really helpful and can work as a guide to as we're, you know, talking about these practices. And then we said, Sorry, Adam, I see that you're next and Louisa chatted me privately and said that Lisa had a question so I'm gonna ask to unmute you. Thank you.
I misunderstood the thumbs up thumbs down. We got there. i This may not be appropriate for this first session. I'm just curious about
breaking up your sleep. I've been at this for about a year and dream journaling and intention and illusory form and something is not clicking. And I'm just wondering if it's maybe that I'm a heavy sleeper, and I don't really understand how to break up my sleep at night. Wu mentioned something about 15 minutes.
Yeah, the 15 minute thing was a daytime where I revisit my intention every 15 minutes or ask a question like Is this a dream so that I do that in the sleep and so so for the for working at night. So tell me tell me this. Have you tried setting like some alarm like two hours before you typically wake up? And just have you tried that?
Yeah, done the wake back to bed.
Okay. And, and what? What happens after you wake up, you know, you wake yourself up, what do you do? And do you go back to sleep what happens?
I typically will like read Stephen the bearish or like 30 minutes or, you know, just journals, some dreams or read my dream journal or something like that.
Okay, and then do you have a dream after you after you do that you go back to sleep. Do you have a dream?
I go back to sleep and I typically have a dream. Oh, okay. So you're not a lucid dream.
Yeah, but you're doing the right things. So just just know that you're you. That is great. You are you're doing some great technique there. And, and don't be discouraged, be it. It's it you know, cracking you know, cracking through breaking through that can sometimes at first be challenging that can take a while like you're been working on it over a year and it's okay. Stay at it. Stay at it cuz you're doing the right thing. You're you're putting so many adding to that might be daytime practice. Think about that, like what, what might be that you can do during the daytime that will further encourage that so so anyway, that's a suggestions for that might crack through that. You know, break through that and get that that lucid dream that first one and, and, and it's such that the first one is so good, so great. So
I appreciate also the mentioning of the intention being something you emotionally connect to I'm not sure when I was doing that. So that may help. Good. Thank you.
All right, I think next, we have Adam, right.
Hi, guys, and thanks so much for doing this. This is just fabulous. So I've been trying to do this for well over a year. I've read a number of books. And and one of the things and and I come to it with not being able to remember my dreams at all throughout my life and a lot of the books say that the first step is to teach yourself how to remember the dream. So that's been a lot of my intentionality and I've had dream journals. And I'm at the point now where I'd say, about half the half the time nights I remember and some I don't I typically wake up several times during the night to pee and and then I write exactly when you know when I wake up and I write down the dream and then I go back to sleep and so and and what I'm concerned about is that I'm wondering whether maybe there's something going on in me that is preventing me you know that somehow afraid to break through on the lucid dreaming I did. I did a session with an ifs counselor about this. And there was you know, I'm very much wired up into rationality and control. And so there was a part of me that was afraid that that functionality would would go away. You know, my rationality, my ability to succeed through rationality would be diminished if I if I got into lucid dreaming. And so you know, we work with the parts, you know, to give up permission. So I'm just wondering, you know, for, you know, whether this resonates with you and when you have some ideas on how I can kind of like break through and get to the other side.
All right. Katie are Chelsea Do you have have anything you want to comment on that?
shaking your head? No, no, no, go ahead. I'm reading something in the chat to everybody else. So go ahead. Oh,
I was I was thinking this would be a good one. For you, Charles. I mean, I'm glad to answer it, but
go for it. Answer it before writing something right now. So
um, yeah. So thank you so much for the question, Adam. You know, it's it's so interesting and this also speaks to what Louisa was saying as well. But so much of what we do in the foundations of this is like boiling a large pot of water. Right. So like the water is slowly slowly slowly warming. And it takes a really long time sometimes for to get all the way to a boil. That doesn't mean that nothing's happening. So this I think this is true for you, Louisa and for you, Adam, that you you have the intention. You have the practice to continue to focus on that. And Adam what you're really showing is like, what your specific obstacle is that you've determined that you've found for yourself, which is maybe this control, or this over rationality. So when we're overly rational, it's probably meaning like that we're overdoing our thinking right like the thoughts, the logic. So one way that you could open up that over rationality is to start to explore some of your other modalities of experience. So your emotions, your sensations of your body, your feelings of your body, how you feel in the moment, and just try to bring awareness to each of those different modalities more to open up from that overly rational way of being. And that might be something that could support. Yeah, just opening in that way. But I'd also encourage you to explore that you know how how might you move through that perceived obstacle? My pleasure.
And I really liked what you said about flying. That's part of my intention for this month is to have the joy of having a lucid dream where I fly.
Yeah, yeah. So essential to connect it with joy. Yeah.
Before
we look forward to hearing from you about your flying upcoming months, Adam. Good luck with that. Yes.
And thanks so much again, for doing this. This is this is just great. It's just such a such an offering. It's just like I could see a book and a tape series coming out of this.
Right on right on.
So can I can I say something really quickly. I just recognize that we're a little bit over the hour. So I just wanted to mention that and that also share that we'll take the next three hands that are up and a couple of the questions that are in the chat and then we'll be completing our time together. But before everybody gets off, I wanted to share with you just if you have just signed up for night club, to make sure to go on and check out the community. It's amazing. All of the resources that Andrew has put together, and the nightclub team, and there are meditation groups on Monday evenings. Check out the schedule for all of the times and there's also the dream group, which is also happening and there's also Dr. Ed, which who's the sleep doctor who is here, and then of course, Andrews offerings as well. Right now he is reading the preparing to die book that he wrote for the book club. So thank you. And Katie, do you want to say anything about feedback right now? Or do you want to just wait until the end?
Yeah, sure. I can say that just in case people have to leave now. Yeah, so this is our first group doing this together. And we are so open to any feedback that you have for us. So whether it's positive or constructive feedback, we want to hear at all so that we can continue to shape this group to really be of service to all of you. There. Chelsea is going to put all three of our emails in the chat. And you're welcome to reach out to any one of us with feedback. You need him thank you
all right, Dan. We've got Dennis next what you got for us, Dennis? Oh, did we lose you?
I just have to plug in my computer. So both Adam and I forget the woman's name that kind of covered some of the questions I had. Now. I've only been trying to lucid dream for a couple of years. I'm slowly making I've been someone who's never remembered my dreams. And so trying to remember my dreams has been something I'm working on. And then terms of lucidity. And the I guess this is my real question. I've had several snippets of dream where I've been able to fly and the experiences certainly as vivid, as waking light. I've been able to put my hand through all momentarily. These are all very brief episodes. I'm not aware of consciously deciding to do these things. But every time these have happened, the experience has been quite clear. And I'm just trying to wonder my question is if if one is lucid, the images are clear like they are in waking life or no one talked about hyper lucidity. I mean, I don't know I wouldn't be most of my dreams are kind of dull, nothing. Sometimes they're dark. Ambient Light is dark. Sometimes they're more normal like light being outdoors or in a building. And then these experiences are very brief or even a little more light so lasts very long. So I guess I'm just wondering, when you're conscious, and you're lucid, lucid dreaming, you know that you're dreaming on some level. I knew I was dreaming. But it wasn't to the same consciousness that I'm I have right now and it's King. So is that a kind of a normal experience? It's not like oh, I'm thinking like during the day, so at night. It's just an awareness of nonverbal awareness, I guess. Was that
fair? Yeah. So So Dennis, you're, you're there's different levels of lucidity. And so you're you're barely tapping into it. So you're you're getting in there. So what you might want to what I invite you to do is to to create the intention for a stronger lucidity. So you're, you're right there, you're so close to really getting more lucidity. So, Andrew talks about hyper lucidity. That's where you are really really you know, you're dreaming. And you've done some things in the dream, perhaps to even hype and to make the colors brighter to really, I mean, it's like, you feel it's more real than you in your waking life. So that's, that's where your lucidity is super, super strong. So there's different levels. So like when I have a lucid dream, and I just barely, like, like, Oh, I'm flying. So getting yourself to go oh, I'm dreaming this is a dream. And then so then what I'll do is I'll stop the dream or out I'll stop the characters whatever is happening, and I'll do something that will enhance the lucidity. So Andrew talks about or, you know, like whirling your arms backwards and some of us do that or there's different motions. You can do that, but keeping it in your consciousness. I'm dreaming. This is a dream. So, so continue, I would, I would encourage you to continue, you know, like the dream generally and doing what you're doing. And you're just going to ask in the dream or you're gonna say, Oh, is this a dream or oh, I'm dreaming and then and then try and do something that makes you even more conscious that you're dreaming. And then you'll be able to do more of the really cool things that we do in lucid dreams and the Dream Yoga path if you're you're heading on that path, you'll have things different practices that you'll want to do as a student of Dream Yoga, but that's that's the thing is you know, if you notice in your dream, you're flying but you're really not that conscious about that you're dreaming. It's connecting that the next time I dream if I'm flying, I'm going to I'm going to stop in and heighten my my lucidity. So, we can talk more about that in the future to about how to hype and lucidity or or more things like that. It did that help, Dennis?
I think so. Thank you, Dan. Thank you all for opening this part.
Yeah. Katie and and Chelsea, do you have anything you wanted to add? Okay, let's go to Cara, or Yeah, Cara.
Hi, thanks for doing this. I've been working virtually with Andrew for a few years. And what happened to me was that I'm just so happy to be diving back into intentionality because what my experience was that I the second or third time I tried it I was fully lucid. And that has it is something I didn't know was missing. And that now I can't live without. And it hasn't happened in a couple of years. But I believe that it was so intense because my husband had just died. And that's exactly at the point I started reading Andrews books so when I was writing my intention today I realized oh, when she said ask for permission, I really I really think that I was that there was a lot of help for my husband to become lucid, and then he would come and get leave clues. I know for a fact there were certain entrances and exits into woods and grabbing of my hand and so I think what I'm gonna do since I really miss it is is asked to be found like to ask my husband to help me. That might be like the most emotional thing I can do because, like I'm reading back over my dream journals and like I would fly on his birthday, I would fly on the day of his death. I think he's quite involved and he also became lucid before he died. So I think I'm gonna go there. Do you think that's a good idea yet? See you shaking your head so yeah,
Chelsea you want to jump in? Yeah.
I'm Carol. What's your husband's name? Oh, Nicolas, Nicolas. Wow, that's so beautiful that Nicholas is supporting you on this lucidity journey. So my mom died about seven years ago. And we had a really close relationship. And she is actually one of the people in my dreams that helped me become lucid. So when I see her there's this like, deep emotional connection and I don't always become like lucid when I see her. But it can trigger my lucidity. And I do feel the support of her in this practice. So I think what you're speaking to is spot on, and I highly encourage you, as do Katie and Bodhi. They're both shaking their heads to continue to do that and yeah, so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Yeah Hamish Is that Is that who we have next?
Yes, it is. It's Hamish. Actually Scottish from James. But nevermind. That's okay. What's the name? I'm very grateful for you guys to do this. This is more than marvelous. Mike, my question is Well, multi barreled, I guess. My my intention that I that I feel is in the core of my heart is to do my spiritual practice during lucid dreaming, and in particular, deity yoga practice. In other words, Mantra, the chin racy mantra, Om Mani Padme home. So when I do it in the waking state, I'm actually beginning now in my 71st year to do it more often during the day so that are the spontaneous practice whether I'm riding my bicycle or having a shower or whatever, and it just it just pops up. So for me it is the it is that repetition which breaks which breaks my heart open beautifully. Also, just very briefly, my route teacher passed away a number of years ago, when I first met him, he was a Canadian Rinpoche, but trained, trained in the east for over 30 years. And my first time meeting him I was in his house in a small town in Ontario, and he was sleeping above me. And I had a dream that I was with him on a boat, and he was right beside me and he just said to me, dreams are like meditation. All you have to do is pay attention, and then a walk up. Since then, I had this is the only recurring dream dreams that I have had is being in his presence. He turns up every now and then maybe once a month or once every three months. And every time I dream of him, I wake up in tears, because I know inherently that he is with me still even though he's out of his body. So that's why I want to do the my mantra practice to actually be with him again lucidly this time and I'm just wondering if that did to do the mantra practice, if that would be the salient, best thing to do, or is the intent to do the usual? The usual Oh, is this a dream? Or questioning myself? Putting my fingers through my hands? Yes, very good, but it doesn't move me in the same way. So the intention is not so is not so huge, free like Yeah, sure. I would love to fly. But it's more important for me to get to to reconnect with myself and my teacher as well. Yeah,
Katie, Katie has some experience with meeting teachers in her dream and doing mantras. So Katie
Yeah, I just want to say thank you so much for sharing this. And it feels like your heart is really connected to the mantra practice, and to meeting your teacher and using that practice as a tool to do that. And so I really believe that you know, each of us has a unique creative design and we have practices that resonate with who we are as creative beings, and where we are spiritual journey. So, so there are no shifts in terms of induction practices. You really want to move towards what is hurtful, and what is joyful, and what you're called to. And I'll also say that, you know, I've had a lot of success using mantra as an induction technique. Actually. And also using mantra in the dream as a way of strengthening and stabilizing the lucidity. Just like just like when we're doing mantra in the daytime, right, it helps calm the thoughts and focus in mind. It's it works the same way in a dream. So I think that's a fantastic tool. And I think, you know, you could even just say I'm going to dive deep into that one technique and see how that goes.
Super. I'll give that a try. Thank you so very much. Thank you.
Keep us posted.
Let us now one more question. I just wanted to know if there was anybody in the group who are intending on going to the Costa Rica retreat.
Great. Yeah, if you're
here, and if so, raise
your hand. type it in the chat if you're intending on going to Costa Rica. Hamish, it sounds like you you're thinking about going or are you?
Yes, yes. already booked. My wife and I already booked. Yes. All right.
All right. Thank you Hamish. Okay, thank you. Yeah.
All right, everybody. We have chat.
Yeah, so there were some questions in the chat. Specifically, there were some around if they could, if there would be access to the slides and where you think the recordings for these so the recordings will be put up in the nightclub community so that's where you'll be able to access them. We can talk to Alyssa about potentially have having a space somewhere in the community just for lucidity induction group kind of resources. So sorry, it's dry here in New Mexico. You have a moment. Um, we'll get back to you on like a resources page or something like that. And then
I can drop the slides in the chat right now as well. Just okay. You want to download them now? Perfect. We'll do that.
Okay, they're in there. Perfect. Thank you.
And then do you want to finish us? Close it out? Katie. Yeah, sure.
Yeah, so thank you all so much for being here. And in the spirit of night club and the wisdom traditions. We are going to dedicate the merit. So whatever MERIT has been accumulated through this group through this practice and through our collective practice, together, we dedicate to the benefit of all sentient beings. May it be so be
