Hi, and welcome to the your good news podcast. With me your host, Katherine Getty. It's easy to believe the news around us that the world is dark and the future is the same. But what if we chose something different? What if we chose to find the good news each day? This podcast is a collection of interviews with friends, mentors, colleagues on their good news and some solo episodes on inspiration I find from business to health to politics and kind of everything in between. It's my hope you leave with a boost and find your good news.
Welcome back to another episode of the market news podcast. It's me Katherine Getty your host. First up good news. This episode will be coming out just a day shy of the year anniversary of the your good news podcast launch this little engine that could was first launch on July 1 2021. So the dose of good news is really going to be the whole episode. It is a whole hearted thank you a heck yeah, celebration, and so much more. So 54 episodes, 34 different guests, 1273 minutes, or nearly a full day, a little over 21 hours of episodes, from listeners and the US to Germany, to Jamaica, to Australia to New Zealand and Mexico. The Orchid news podcast has really made itself a little corner in this world. This podcast started with the feeling that if I'm being honest, I sort of felt hopeless, it was 2020. And even times in between to now 2022. You know, I can find it harder and harder to find the good and each day. Sometimes it's just as like that. But I knew I wanted to change I wanted to change I didn't want to feel stuck. And I also knew I had always loved the medium of spoken word. I can remember vividly as a child listening to NPR in the car, and being taken away to faraway lands and being connected to another person because of their story. I never dreamed that that feeling of hopelessness, and a love of spoken word would grow into me hosting this podcast, something of my own that I am so very proud of. I had no idea what this podcast would do for myself, let alone for others. And personally my confidence has grown. I've learned how much I love, just love connecting with people. I've always loved asking a stranger how their day was. And genuinely knowing that this has unlocked something in me new. This podcast has sparked a love of thinking through questions. And asking friends deeper questions, finding bits of good, this podcast has made me realize what I want to do in this world. I want to leave my corner of this world better, better than I found it. And I truly believe that this podcast is a part of that mission. For others. It has meant so much to me to hear how much you've loved it, how you've learned something new or got a new hobby or reached out to that person that you hadn't to in a while. You've let me know how you've tried to find the good, how you've been inspired? How you've realized that even in a world that often feels upside down. And no, that isn't a reference to Stranger Things that there are slivers of God, my hope, as we kick off here to have the your good news podcast is that we unlock even more good that we make our corners of this world even brighter. It won't always be easy. And if I'm honest, some days are harder than others. When I sat down to write this podcast episode, I'll be honest, I cried, I got anxious, I shut down. But in the words of my dear friends, Victoria, I thought to the how I didn't know how I was going to do it. I didn't know how to encapsulate a year emotions. But I wrote down one word, and I wrote down another. Well, a few more. So thank you, thank you. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for listening to this podcast, for spending your time with me for believing in this little engine that could be your good news podcast for supporting yourself and finding the good and for others and finding their good. May we never think that the worst is yet to come. May we all choose to find the good even on the days and the moments that aren't that easy.
