Hey welcome back to another bonus episode of cubicle to CEO, the podcast where we ask successful entrepreneurs, the business questions you can't google. I'm your host, Ellen Yin. And today I have some really exciting news to share with you all. We are coming up on our 200th episode on this podcast at the end of June. And that's 200 of our Monday guest interviews, not including any of the new bonus episodes that we've been airing on Wednesdays this year.
So this is a huge milestone for really any podcast, but especially our show, because it marks for years of us showing up on a regular weekly basis to serve you value, and to share with you insights from guests all over the world who have built incredibly successful businesses and are willing to share their wisdom with you. I think it's such a cool celebration. And we wanted to make a big deal out of this. So what we're doing is we're actually hosting a giveaway, where we want to give one of you a $200 shopping spree at your favorite small business. So if you're the lucky winner, you actually get to choose which small business we buy this gift card from. This was really important to us. Because oftentimes, with giveaways, you see that the gift cards are usually for national retailers like Target or Amazon or Starbucks, which we totally appreciate and do as well, because it makes it more accessible for anyone no matter where they live, to access the prize.
But for this particular giveaway, we wanted to be really intentional and allowing you to show up and support your favorite small businesses by giving you the choice of who you buy from right. So for this giveaway, if you're the winner, like I said, you'll get to tell us who your favorite small businesses, and then we'll go and purchase a gift card from them. And then you'll get to spend that $200 at their business. So to enter a giveaway, it is super easy. All you have to do is follow two simple steps. Number one go to ratethispodcast.com/cubicletoCEO. Again, that's ratethispodcast.com/cubicletoCEO to rate our show. And if you pull this up on your mobile phone, depending on if you're on an iPhone or Android, it'll give you different options to rate our show. So you can rate on either Apple or Spotify. And we love and super appreciate those of you who go above and beyond in taking the time to also write us a thoughtful review. But a review is not necessary to enter this giveaway, you can simply click to rate our show. So I mean, it really is that simple, it should take you less than five seconds, just click to rate our show.
Hopefully, we're keeping our fingers crossed for a five star rating if you have found value in our podcasts, and then go ahead and screenshot your rating. And then head over to step number two, which is Ellenyin.com/200. And that's 200 as in 200. So don't spell out the word, it's 200. And you can fill out our giveaway form. So we're just going to ask you to submit your screenshot showing that you rated our podcast. So just, you know, screenshot your rating, upload it there. And if you want an extra entry in this $200 gift card giveaway, you also have the option to submit a 60 second or less Voice Memo asking a question that you'd like me to answer in our 200th episode. So again, this is a totally optional field, but it will be right there on the form. So you can just do it in in one simple step, you can upload your screenshot and upload your voice memo at the same time.
And we haven't really done a listener Q+A in a long time. I think the last one we did was in the summer of 2021. And our podcast has grown immensely since then. So we really wanted to take this opportunity to feature you our listeners in our 200th episode, because you're the reason why all of this exists, right? You're the reason we've even gotten to the 200th episode. So if you have a burning question, it could be business, it could be personal that you've wanted to ask me, please take this opportunity to record your question and upload it as a voice memo and you could hear your voice played in our 200th Episode That's airing Monday, June 26. So in addition to getting featured in our podcast, if your question is chosen, we will also make sure to include links to your business in our show notes and on the blog for extra visibility. So again, our goal here is to really use our platform to shine a spotlight on you and the amazing work that you're doing in your small business. So if you would like an opportunity to get featured on our show in this way, make sure you include that voice memo with your giveaway submission.
All right, one last thing you know that with these bonus episodes are wasn't going to make sure that you get an extra tip or something insightful all related to the guests interview on Monday that you can implement. And in this week's episode, Amanda was talking about how to utilize client testimonials to grow your business through word of mouth marketing to build trust with your audience. And I was thinking about this. And one easy thing that we've implemented this year, particularly to grow our podcast reviews. But really, this can be applied across any channel, even if you don't have a podcast. Maybe you're a brick and mortar shop that relies heavily on Google reviews, or Yelp reviews. Or maybe you're an online business that, you know, when clients are scoping you out there looking at your reviews on your Facebook page or your reviews on LinkedIn. So this really applies to anywhere where you might be trying to grow your review base so that people have an opportunity to look at these public testimonials, when they're considering hiring you or buying from you.
And one of the easiest things you can do is oftentimes, when you're in your DMS or in your inbox, you may be on the receiving end of a lovely compliment, or note of encouragement or positive feedback, right, from someone who has worked with you in some capacity. And oftentimes, we, you know, we forget to really make the most of that moment, we'll think someone of course, and we may even screenshot it for use on our own landing pages or sales pages at a later point. But one of the easiest extra steps you can take in a moment like that is simply to ask someone, "Hey, would you be willing to do me a huge favor and just copy paste the exact words that you shared above on (insert whatever it is) right on Google as a review?", "would you be willing to copy and paste that exact sentence that you shared above with me and leave it as a rating on Apple podcast?", it could be as simple as that.
And what I really have found to be so effective about this is you're really catching someone in that moment, right, where they're already wanting to share positive feedback with you. And you're not really asking them to do any extra work that burns more brain calories. What I mean by this is you are providing them the direct link to where you want them to go, right? So do do the heavy lifting for them. Like don't say, "Hey, can you go post this on Yelp" and then you know, make them go search you on Yelp, or whatever it is, make sure you directly link to wherever you want them to write the review. So on LinkedIn on Facebook, send them to the exact URL that pulls up the lever review option so that they're not having to click around your page trying to find it, because that's frustrating. For us, you know, with a podcast when we're asking people "Hey, like that really awesome note that you just shared about this week's podcast episode, can you copy paste that at ratethispodcast.com/cubicletoCEO", right, so we make it really easy for them to just click and copy paste. And because they're not having to come up with anything new necessarily. They're not having to write you a brand new review from scratch, it makes it so much easier for them to follow through on it. And it really just feels like one extra copy paste moment for them to support you.
And if they're showing up in your inbox or your DMS to give you a glowing testimonial or feedback, then these are your most loyal people who want to support you, right. So take the opportunity to just ask them for that extra little favor and it goes such a long way in helping you grow your review base. So I hope that tip helps let me know if you end up deciding to implement that try that next time someone hops into your inbox or your DMS with a positive note.
And on that note to wrap up this bonus episode, a quick reminder that this giveaway closes June 8 at 11:59pm Eastern time. So make sure that you submit your rating screenshot make sure you submit your voice memo question if you would like to by June 8th at 11:59pm eastern, and again the link to do that is Ellenyin.com/200. We'll drop all of the links mentioned in this episode in the show notes below so it's directly clickable for you. Good luck and I can't wait to answer some of your questions in the 200th episode. Thank you so much for your continued support of this podcast. It means everything to me. You are the reason why our show is a success and I can never thank you enough for that. So make sure you go into can't wait to spoil one of you with a $200 shopping spree, and I will catch you in the next episode.
