Hello, and welcome to organizing and accessing information, a short course about organizing and searching for information.
I've organized our course into three topics that have three different sets of learning goals. In physical organization, the first topic, you'll learn to articulate the affordances, or the things physical organization is good for, and the constraints, the things it's not so good for, and then get some practice organizing physical objects.
In the second topic, digital organization, you'll do the same thing with the affordances and constraints of organizing and searching for digital items.
We'll then complete a second project where you all put some of your digital objects into an organized system.
In the final topic search strategy, we'll take what we've learned in the first two topics and create and carry out a more complex search strategy in a real world search project.
I want to thank you all for joining me here and I really look forward to learning with you. Please feel free to reach out to me at Nicholas at information games dot info, or through our Moodle course. If you have questions or would like some reassurance or just need some more information about what we're doing. Thank you very much and I'll see you in the class.
