Yeah, they're all wild today. Especially this one. He's a horse that if you don't check in with him and reset him, he can do that to me. This is his first run back, so he's seeing the cross-country jumps and feeling rather sprightly. Yeah. But no, I'm thrilled with them. They all jumped great.
Awesome. Value of jumping on grass? We don't have any grass facilities here.
I love jumping on grass, because I did it obviously for 20 years in England. Funnily enough, I'm nearly more relaxed on grass, because it just feels like what I'm used to. But the surface is amazing, and they've done a great job. Rode great, I think it's good for the horses. There's a lot of atmosphere, it prepares them for something like Blenheim or Bramham or something like that.
Cool. Any updates on your plans for cross country after these rounds?
I mean, I'm not going to slop around on him, but I'm not going to hammer in either. This is his first run of the year. He's not a horse that goes very slow. I need to check in with my controls too, gotta make sure I can stop. That was my biggest issue last year, was brakes. It's all about just producing him for the next level again. So if he wins, he wins; if he doesn't... But the other horse, I'll probably run quick, because I need to check in on my brakes. They're both moving up to four-star next summer.
