Okay, my top three pieces of advice for somebody who's doing instructional coaching for the first time.
Number one is to really work hard at establishing a rapport and a relationship with your trainee, getting to know them as a person, but also getting to know them as a learner because that will help you to get the best from them.
The second thing is to really develop your listening abilities so that when you're in those conversations, you're really listening to what they are saying and how you can then act on that.
And then the last thing is to establish a culture with your training where it's okay to make mistakes and not be perfect because that's the best way that they will grow and learn
