Hey friends welcome back to another bonus episode of cubicle to CEO. If you're hearing this in real time, I'm taking August off to get married. Luckily, I have a group of six incredibly smart CEOs stepping up for me to share one bite sized nugget each to help you improve your writing, ads branding, wealth, building business, and video marketing skills. I get asked all the time, who's your go to person for x? Or who should I hire for support with y? My answer is the women you'll meet in today's episode, our communities vetted experts we call the CEO Collective, I highly recommend and love working with each and every one of them. Here's a small sample of their genius.
Hi, my name is Kaitlyn Carlson and I'm the founder and CEO of Theory Planning Partners. I'm a certified financial planner, a certified Exit Planning advisor and an accredited Wealth Management advisor. My mission is to help women use their businesses to kickstart their wealth creation journeys. A life of wealth is receiving paychecks from one or multiple streams of income that don't rely on you. I've helped hundreds of entrepreneurs create their customized game plan for wealth and the one number we reverse engineer together is what I call your wealth number. What is your wealth number? It's the total amount of money you want to come in from your wealth outside of your business so that business becomes a fun optional game you get to play. Answer these two questions with me to find yours. Number one, how much money do you pay for your bills every month? Number two, how much money do you typically spend on your lifestyle every month, add those two amounts together, and that is your wealth number. If you were eager to start your wealth creation journey, head on over to theoryplanning.com and book a call with us.
Hello, hello everybody. My name is Tara Zirker. I am the founder of Successful Ads Club where we teach small business owners, like yourself, how to do their own Facebook and Instagram ads, how to bring this skill in house so that you can always control the lever on your leads and your sales. Today I want to talk about how I used Facebook ads to grow my Instagram following without buying followers. Now whenever I share this topic, I always get a lot of questions about it. I'm going to try and give you the general strategy right here. Bear in mind whenever I say Facebook ads, I'm always talking about the full Facebook suite of apps. So Facebook Messenger, Instagram, of course, Threads, WhatsApp, everything, right? And typically, when you're running back end Facebook ads, you're actually spending about 60-80% of that budget on Instagram.
So first of all, you have to know something, when you are running, quote unquote Facebook ads, you're naturally going to get a ton of people that don't ever do the thing you want them to do, they don't go purchase, opt in, etc. They actually go to your Instagram, your Facebook, wherever they find your ad. And they research you. And if your bio is really onpoint, they generally will just kind of follow you. So that's a pretty cool thing to know. But there's another specific strategy that I developed. So essentially what I did was and this allowed me to grow my account, I think it's at 10,000 followers right now, using ads on a $10 a day strategy over the last couple of years. And I have to admit that I am not the most consistent or best with my content on Instagram, but it actually generates quite a good channel for us in terms of business growth. So let me tell you what we do.
Essentially, I run ads to a freebie, okay, so where someone can give me their email address in exchange for a download. Now, this could be a webinar or anything like that. But our freebie for this particular strategy has worked really well. And that's because they get to the thank you page. Now this is where the money is. I feel like so many people under utilize their thank you pages, people are engaging with your brand for the first time. And this is a wonderful place to build that secondary audience. So for you, your secondary audience might be YouTube, Instagram, Tik Tok, maybe you are building a secondary audience via podcast. They just opted in, they're very excited to get to know you, this is a wonderful opportunity to invite them into that deeper relationship. So that's exactly what we do run ads to a freebie, folks pop in their email address. And on the thank you page, we invite them to come and follow on Instagram.
Now this is for one particular funnel, we have lots of different thank you pages accomplishing different things, but for this particular funnel, what I would do is I would invite them on that thank you page to come and send me a DM at a very specific question for them to answer. And I also included that same invitation a couple of times in the first email that they receive. So of course they're going to get a nurture sequence as a follow up to opting in. And in that first email, I really extended that same invitation or two comments, send me a DM very, very specific question. And then I would send a very customized response. And that has been so wildly effective.
Now think of what happens when people send you a DM. First of all, there's like strong relationship that's building number two. Typically, whatever platform they're on, they're gonna see your content next time they log into that platform because they're actually interacting with you in a really meaningful way. That sending signals to those social media platforms, hey, this person is really interested in this person. And they're going to see more of your content. Let's say it's Instagram, you know, more of your news feed updates, more of your story updates and all of that. So the big takeaway here is to really utilize every single piece of your thank you pages, I want you to always think about your funnels as real estate. This is Digital real estate, are you optimizing it to its full potential. Thanks for listening today. I'm Tiffany Grimes, the founder of Burgeon Design and Editorial, I'm a book coach and editor and I work with both fiction and nonfiction authors from idea to publication to help demystify publishing and empower you to create a writing process that's just as human as you are. A lot of writers want their first draft or even their second draft to be the draft they query and publish. And this has two results, they might put so much pressure on the book and they can't finish it, or they query it too early and burn their chances of working with certain literary agents are published before they're ready and get bad reviews or poor sales. The reality is that the average book takes around 10 drafts and at least a full year of editing before it's ready. And this process often takes 4-10 years for many writers. Hell, even Stephen King is a three draft writer, and he's been doing this for a very long time. And these revisions are much more intense than you think. Put less pressure on your first draft so that you can get something down that you can then revise, I like to call my first draft a zero draft to relieve the stress of perfectionism. Author mentorship is a blend of editing and book coaching for fiction memoir and select nonfiction writers. This is a unique for you three month program where we'll tackle your specific needs to ensure you're getting the support you need to reach your goals anywhere from idea to submission. This might look like finishing your draft completing revision or planning to submit to literary agents or publishers. Head to burgeondesignandeditorial.com for more information. I'm Tiffany Napper, five time entrepreneur, perpetual overachiever, and now holistic business coach for creatives and founder of the Upleveler society, I'm all about helping you find more money and more joy in this journey as a small business owner. When you're feeling like a failure, and let's be honest, we've all been there, I want you to ask yourself these two questions. Number one, what do you know to be true? And number two, what do you believe to be true? The first question allows you to gather the facts from your previous experience and from data conducted by others. For example, if you work in the wedding industry, and you're experiencing a slow period, we can glance at your data to see if this is typically a slow season in your business. And we can do a quick Google search and discover that the wedding industry is seeing a decline and 2023 across the board. We also know people will continue to get married. So that's what we know to be true. Now what do you believe to be true? The second question allows you to reach deep into your belief system and question what you are telling yourself if your subconscious is telling you that you're never going to book another wedding again. What happens when you say "I believe I'll never book another wedding"? You probably chuckle or gasp but because you don't really believe that to be true. So next time you're feeling like a little bit of a failure. Ask yourself these two questions for a quick reset. Hello, I'm Natasha, a video marketing coach for entrepreneurs and the host of The Shine Online Podcast. My goal is to help you simplify your video strategy with low lift content, which I'll be sharing a tip on in today's episode. So one of the most important elements of your video is a strong hook. But I feel like we rarely actually discuss what a strong hook actually looks like in your video content. So here's three different types of video hook formats that you can use in your content, and I'm going to also include examples for each. The first is curiosity. "Do you know the secret to a strong video hook that increases video engagement and retention?" The next is problem and solution. "Struggling to get engagement on your videos? Include a strong hook and the first three seconds of your video." And the last is context. "Here are three types of video hooks you can include in your video content." And I want to challenge you to use at least one of these types of hooks and your video content this week. For more video content tips and strategies just like this, you can listen to deep dive episodes over on The Shine Online Podcast wherever you're listening to this podcast. I recommend starting with the episode titled 'The Anatomy of a Great Video: Master Short Form and Long Form Video Content' as a part of my Back to Basics series.
