There we go. Hi.
Oh, look at those faces. I love to see you guys. Hello, hello. It's just too good to see you. So I'm here in my my day job, looking forward to the My, my good job that is doing things like this for you guys. Um, so it was kind of funny, because I could not sign in. It's like I was black
from my account. And it's kind of funny. So I just like panic at the last minute, so nobody so I cannot get in and I'm at the office. So how are you? I trust you're all well in the middle of the day, this feels a little different for me, because I'm also always in the office. That's where I am right now. But I'm in my way to Chicago tonight because my husband has an appointment with a specialist in Northwestern University. So that's where his neurologists are, and that's where we're going. I hear he's going to be like, 96 tomorrow in Chicago. So in the city, 96 is like, ooh, that's not good, but we go in and out of the city. So I was thinking, how can I share my practice with you today? And I've been listening to Andrew mush lady lately, and he's been talking about that process of card young process of into individualization, which all mean in terms of car young, the process of becoming complete, but it's just getting familiar with the subconscious. So that 95% that we're talking about all the time, and when meditation, we meditate, that's the 95% that we get familiar with, and those are the thoughts and the things that may come up when we're doing meditation, right? And what I like about that process is that instead of negating a part of ourselves, we become more complete, not when we are something different from what we are, but when we are fully who we are, fully human, with the good things and the bad things, the things that are working well and the things that are not working well, but we go that chiseling away those little layers of things that we are aware of and the things that are not aware of, and the process of becoming complete, the becoming that process of of knowing and getting to know that person,
that's the part that is. It takes a while for some of us. I think it might take my case. It would take many lifetimes to come, for sure, but if we do it with a sense of joy, and we do it with the same sense of knowing what we do and
it is, it is, it's
a dance. It's a dance of life, and I think that in my last meditation, that's one of the last things that I said, is that sense of becoming whole and becoming fully human, but it would be to own all those little tricks so it remind me of a story that I heard, and I hope that I can do honor to this Navajo chine woman that I met maybe seven years ago, young woman when we went to a meditation yoga retreat that I was helping somebody else in one of my yoga trainings. And we went to this part in Arizona for the chine Navajo,
one of their groups, and I really had no idea. And the landscape is so beautiful, the skies are so blue, and at the same time, everything is so bare, and it's so close to us and so different in kind of the reality they have left. And one of the things that I learned is that the young people and this sense of sometimes anger they have for what they've been through generations of what they've been going through, but in this meditation, one of the young women that read a
story that is the
story of her family, but I think it could be the story of all of us. And I'm going to, if you want to do it with meditation and contemplation and close your eyes. We're not beginning the meditation formally. But she told the story of, you know how they talk about the landscape and the beautiful landscape, and there was no human they were Johanna. Animals, and the animals were just living their lives and all this. So then everybody was all the animals were getting along, and they heard this sound, and they didn't know where the sound was coming from. And they look into the skies, and they thought maybe the sound was coming from the skies, and they went around and around trying to find what was that sound and the land, what was that sound that vibrated, and all of them. So they decided maybe they were going to send birds up to see if they can find where the sound was coming from. And at first they just was a crow, and they crow went up as opposite could find, and went around and nothing happened. And came down, and they came down and reported to all the animals that they could not find where it was. And after that, they sent another bird that went a little bit higher, they went around and comes really tired, says, I don't know what that sound that we all feel is coming from so they sounded, it says, Send an eagle. An eagle maybe can fly higher, and they can just use their wings in a different way and last a little longer trying to find where was that sound on earth that they were all feeling and hearing, and they didn't know where it comes from. So the ego comes down as this time try and try, there was nothing we could not find some. So they decided maybe they would put a cannery on top of the eagle, and the eagle will go as high as it can, and then the cannery will be going up, up, up, and you will find where the sound was coming from. So that happened in days past, and they could not they thought that maybe this little bird had died because they did not come back. And they waited and waited until the bird, one day came down, and he was tired, and the whole population there took care of this little bird and nourished the bird and make sure that the bird came to health. And when the bird finally was able to talk, what it found, what is then was her song, and then she sang the song. And everybody understood. We look up, up, up in every way, and one day, what we find is our own song and all humanity, and that is the home that we feel, that is the OM that we feel, that's the mantra that we feel when we're all looking for is our own song, to sing our own song, to own our own humanity, to own who We are, and we go about thinking that is outside, and we go high and low and use all their people to tell us what it is, but all of those is just to come to who we Are, and in that version, we this, this body, this bones, these thoughts, this mind, are the spaceship where we can travel. So what we do with meditation, if I might suggest, what I think I do with meditation is, like Andrew says, is just we become familiar with that 95% of us that we are not aware of. And then we begin to hear a little bit of that theme, that song, and we hear more of that song, more of that song. And hopefully one day we can sing our own song completely,
that that
is, to me, what we
do with this practice
in comments, would you like to find your own song? Isn't that a beautiful story? I don't know why. Every time I tell it, I
tear up like I heard it the first time, and I feel it sharp on my chest. I feel it on my heart. Thank you. So let's begin like it's middle of the day for some of us, and it's a little earlier for some of us, but we can maybe set a tone for the rest of the day. So if you like to place it, sometimes you don't have place your hands on your heart, like we've been taught you close your eyes and check what is the temperature. Who are we here today? Who came to meditate today? What is aching? What is light, or maybe just feel without labels?
Do you feel the beat of your heart? Do
Did you notice your breath under rising and lowering? I
maybe invoking a sense of gratitude again, for the wisdom the teachers, the teachings our loved ones and those that are not so much for their great teachers, too and
if you ever have taken commitments and have taken bridges, maybe you Say it to yourself, I
knowing that there is nowhere to go,
Maybe aspiring to see that shine of the heart,
bringing maybe a smile to Your face, knowing that that affects your whole body And
consider any intention for the practice today you
and how, if you like to place your hands on your lap, or maybe you have a mudra that you'd like To Do When you meditate, don't lose the smile. I'm in a chair, so I'm going to come a little bit forward to allow my back to be straight, but not stiff. Joan halifat says, a strong back, a soft front,
and front,
your feet are planted, and maybe the knees a little lower than your hips, and if they're not just in your mid like your doctor appearances, you can cross one ankle on top of the other, so your knees come down a little bit, allowing a little bit of more comfort to your seat, knowing that you can recline if you like,
and That laying down is also a position of meditation and
shoulders,
more or less over your hips, and today, let's just sway, maybe from side to side, very softly. Imagine like a laser ray from the bottom of your spine up seeing you can find that laser, that light coming through. Sometimes we have to go forward and backwards to find that center in between your sit bones. And if you don't feel it, just bring a little bit of an image.
The crown of the head goes up, almost like somebody's pulling it from the crown, and then your shin comes in and back a little bit over. In the back of your neck,
exposing the heart.
For now, the eyes may be closed, but they are not tight a little bit, opening in your lips and
the tongue you play softly behind the top teeth, the top palette, like I say many times for short meditations like this, I like my tongue to float. I
pick up making any changes, just notice your body here right now. You
sometimes we already had tighten up, maybe the left shoulder
just nice and
and it's a little bit of shamatha just to begin The practice. Let's bring the attention about four finger widths below your belly button and to the back in front of your spine,
just the center of energy,
and maybe you can notice the rising and lowering of your breath in that area of the body. You're not intentionally inhaling or excelling. You're just noticing as it rises
and lowers
without any other goal. You just gently placing your attention. And let's do this for A couple of minutes. And
if you lose your object, no problem. Just notice that you did and immediately work back in And
and keep doing that and
now Just take an inhale to the nose
a little bit more, a little bit more and softly, let it go to your nose and.
Checking how you feel,
noticing the sensations of the body now, noticing whether the body had settled in The bed,
has the temperature of the body changed? I
can you notice tightness or looseness?
Maybe the edges of your clothing, maybe when you feel an itch,
maybe you're curling your toes and you can relax your toes
just sense the sensations, the tactile sensations of your body and
and every time we place the attention and that our sensation just bringing awareness,
we're practicing the
bringing awareness to Every rooter moment of our lives.
What about sounds?
Are your windows open as you're in your conditioning,
I can hear the kitchen you
and now let any images, Any sounds and sensations of The body,
just like I
check in again with Your pose notice where there's the beginning, little adjustments to be
made. Your breath is quiet, but Your thoughts maybe got louder and
so what would you thinking just before I began to talk right now, I
was there a thought or image or sensation I.
Was your emotion attached to that thought?
What about now?
Did you know where the current thought? When did it begin? I
Where did it come from? I
The best thing about all this question is that all answers are correct. I
because is in the awareness of whatever was happening our mind stream
that brings us in contact
that Allow us to become familiar
With our Mind process and
so imagine that you have like this magic eraser, whatever is happening on the mind you can just erase right now with us or judgments or sensation are just erased.
If we remember our intention,
settle the body a little bit and
then we slowly open our eyes a little bit, looking just in front of us, maybe three or four feet towards the floor that is skirted. You'd like to remain with your eyes closed. Please do that.
We're looking forward, but we're not finding a point of attention. We're
we're not concentrating.
You see the open gates and.
It's almost like
now moving our eyes, We can open the upper shoe and
left,
Okay, like we're looking through their horizon and
it feels right. I feel like sometimes if you pay attention, and almost like you're lifting your eyebrows a little bit, and the eyes get wider, and
Earth without focus,
almost like you can step back like looking from behind your head
and and
he said in some of the literature that This is the gaze that will keep in the Bardo
softening The edges of your Body and
and with this opening awareness, open awareness,
every thought, every sound,
every sensation of the body,
becomes part of the meditation. We don't follow it,
but it comes up and it fades away, the same way that we were doing before. And
if you feel tired and you feel like you can need to close your eyes. Do that, maybe you open them again. If you i you are with your eyes closed, you can see completely also with Your vice ice coast and
No up and no down,
no left To no right,
No sign.
No Sign.
Memory Marie, memories,
dialogs, did
you Just notice
they're part of that 95%
that we don't see
while we go with our harvest root patterns of everyday life.
Keep out and
there goes Part of the display and
and slowly begin to close your eyes a little bit and.
Uh, noticing how the energy comes down.
Maybe sometimes I feel like I feel a sensation of my body coming down together. The edges of the body become a little bit more firm.
If you close your mouth, it gives open and slowly, close your eyes if they were open.
Asking yourself, How do you feel? Do you feel the same?
And if not, how different.
Bringing the attention to the area of the room where you're at
to the area of your few feet from where you are noticing the subtle body, the very, very, very subtle body of the energy begins to come closer to your skin. It's almost like you're getting like a Reiki kind of energy coming in. And it's not your imagination. You
feeling your skin, muscles, your bones and
come in and all the energy coming towards the heart Here, and shaking it again. How do you feel? And
checking in with your intention and
I'm bringing to mind your soul if you need some help or some help
a family member or friend.
Would you like to share some of the energy that you have generated today? Do
I imagine that you can get all this like a little ball of beautiful white or blue light,
and you can just reach towards your heart and just place it there, may they be free of suffering, be healthy and live with ease and
and now imagine that you have this oldest people that make the world a better place around you that you notice leaving the gas station because. Sheer depression store the male person, teachers or friend, and you have them all together again. You gather this from your heart a beautiful crescent of light, and you reach out and you place it in each one of their hearts,
may they be free for your suffering,
healthy.
And the funny thing about this energy that we just generated with this meditation and who we are our song is the more that we shared, the bigger it gets. So we gather now more the energy, and then we share even further to our community, to the state, to this continent, and we share with everybody, people that we love their clothes, people that will do not know everybody need
go. Goes like a way, going out and out.
And one last time, we gathered all more, even more energy. And everybody that we have shared energy what are sharing the energy with us this time we send it out to places that we don't know, all sentient beings and every crowning every planet of The Infinite may all be free
live with This, be happy and free.
We Come back to our seat and
maybe you like to with me say thank you for the opportunity.
I'm sure we thank you, thankful for all of you and the opportunity to share my practice with you. My heart is full,
and we slowly open our eyes see if they were called.
We kind of move ahead, from side to side,
raise our shoulder towards the ears. They can inhale and slowly, then go. Let them go. Let's do that two more times, inhale up,
exhale down. One more time, and exhale down,
moving our hands and our wrist, making fists and open big, just making any movement that feels right in the moment. And then, if you like, to turn on your camera for the last raising your hands up. We raise our arms up. Our hands come together, maybe with a little bit of that space in between, because we still have that energy. There is magic energy that we have, and we come towards the heart. So is three points
into the heart.
Thank you again for this beautiful time. Time, may your awakened hearts grow and furnish ever more and more Namaste.
So go on and sing your song. Don't forget to sing in dance. We I think that at the end, one of the things that Andrew says that at the end is like a big joke or a big disappointed. Why
did I get to so much trouble? I just have to be loving in who I am. And they tell you, Do this, do this, do this. To say how many mantras are. And then he said, Just relax and let it go.
But we don't know how. If we relax and we let it go without knowing that we do, without coming in contact with that solo body, then it will be just like having a bottle of wine. It is the awareness of what we're doing and why we're doing it that makes it meta, that makes it wisdom, that makes it
what we have to
do. So unless you have something to share, I don't want to bug you anymore. I see a few comments, but I do not Alyssa, anything that I need to be aware but just loving comments.
Everybody's just saying thank you so much. And okay, so let's go and get it guys, we have a mission. Enjoy to share. Thank you, bye, bye, thank you, everybody. Bye, bye, bye.
