So what changed for you guys? They didn't believe you guys fix over that run late. And I said before, what's gonna change?
Really, we just we missed some good shots, I will say that we didn't have a great rhythm tonight. New team really did. And you can see that so it's one of those wins like you kept feeling like someone's gonna win the soccer game and let it be us. That's how you felt throughout the game and I thought our guys just hung in there. What I liked was no frustration there was none of that we just kept kind of pegging away. So I'll take that how did you feel like, I thought it was good. I thought it was almost trying too much to get everybody involved, which we want. But we want to get him involved too. He's pretty good. You know, and so I thought as the game went on, he warmed up to that and trying to find the right mix. No, I loved his handoffs. We threw it out to him too high too much early. You know, instead of catching it on the elbows, I thought he was catching it behind above the three which doesn't do a lot. So for us we want to more at the elbows. You know what did you just make it this fourth quarter? It was great. Yeah, yeah. Defensively lesson we're playing great as a team defensively you know, these are the nights that your defense wins games for you when you struggle offensively. I mean, guys, shake at great layups, you know we had came out of timeout got two buys a wide open three got Georgia wide open three got melted wide open three all front rim you know, it was just one of those nights Joe was probably the freshest guy on both teams.
Tobias This is Mike Carey your
offensive a really was especially in the third quarter with that one group on the floor. So that's what we need.
Doc. You guys played probably the most. I think you've played Yeah, I would guess I guess why did you decide to do that and
we loved it. We loved it. They were killing our man early and you just need to go to that you know to get them out of rhythm. We felt like and I can remember the game back to back maybe the last game we lost. Going back to back zones are great. Because you guys can get some rest and still be out on the floor and play offense. So we talked about it Miami I think yesterday played 80% of the game in zone so we got a chance to really look at their their zone offense. You know, it's funny when you when you look at it. Teams have one or two zone offense, right? They have 1530 to 40 man plays and so we just felt like it was easy to scout their zone offense than it was trying to guard them and man
you mentioned that you work on that zone every day
every day. How do you see the news progress? It's progressing it's I love it. It's won some games for us already this year. There's certain guys you'd rather have in it like Matisse is phenomenal in the zone just so long and he covers space so you wish when you have it he was on the floor times Daniel house is another guy that's pretty good in the zone so we definitely no that doesn't work out because you want your offense you want your guys on the floor but we knew we know we need one zone possession we know exactly the group we want on the floor but it rarely works out that way.
The third night that you plan on the season yeah first time Paul had some troubles me furniture Young is much better. How would you assess
his growth? Oh Paul Yeah, I thought he did pretty well overall you know, I thought he got beaten zone when they set to step ups because he was at a drop and now they had a running start at him but other than that in the man I thought ball was pretty good he was up to touch split them out a couple of times. And honestly the way we look at it even though it's a switch with Paul or whoever on him it's a two you know we've got them inside the three and that's what we want we are we talked about if He dribbles out behind the three we go get them again. So we don't mind that at all.
She and Joe really worth it to me and a really well. January really close all night.
Yeah. Yeah, it's just our humble flat. It's our down stretch. Go to play for the most part. Tough to guard because you don't get in front of Shakeel lay it in and if you do that means Joe pops and he's open. We have to buy So Georgia we corner so they can't leave there. So I just thought our spacing was good. And we ran it well.
I was struggling to shoot from the floor. Yeah. The whole game he saw the game really well in terms of things start to finish feeling he had some nice says Do you feel like he started to take it to another level as a playmaker?
Yeah, but I thought we saw Joelle tonight like instead of playing and so we got to get back to playing to at our speed. I thought Sheikh had Two or three times but he's got to go and steady picks it up and throws it and that's what happens. You know, it's pretty good. You want to give him the ball, but we have to keep the guys have to keep plan as well. Joelle solid job was trying to get the ball to guys. I mean, so we'd have some work to do, but it's easy work like it's very fixable. Thanks. Thanks, guys.
