Hey, welcome. People are starting to trickle in. It's nice that some people came early. Hello. Happy Monday.
Happy Monday. Yeah,
got people coming in from all over.
Okay,
don't want to officially start to give people another minute, and I'm going to disable that.
I lots of note takers, lots of AI note takers. This is great. Okay, we're gonna have lots of notes. All right? So welcome everyone. We have so many people who joined right at the start. So I think I will get right into it. It's a momentous time of year. I'm going to take the first 10 minutes to just give people an update, and that's the state of psychia and what we have going on. And then we're going to take the last 50 minutes to do introductions, asks and gifts and visioning for 2024 we have a really great group here, and so it's just such a nice opportunity for people to get to know each other. And this 12pm eastern time seems to be a really good time for people in Europe and other parts of the world to join. So welcome. So let me pull up the deck here. So to give people a state of what's happening at psychia, I wanted to give a messaging update, because so many of you to start, have been wonderful ambassadors for our group, and we have, I think we're discovering that we have two main messages. So right now for the psychedelic community, the message is that psychedelic experiences can inspire this profound oneness with all life join our mission to transform and integrate this awareness into meaningful climate action, to discover pathways forward. And I've been going to some climate conferences this week, and the next thing that has been resonating with
people is not everyone is mute.
Okay, okay, great. And then when we do a more participatory round, going forward, we can unmute people. So again, this, this message that's resonating with the climate community is, why are we in this crisis? We believe that a consciousness shift is in order. And so I don't know how many of you have seen some of these materials that aren't yet on the site. Some of you who have been advising have but essentially a consciousness shift, something that we can integrate beyond the psychedelic experience, the reconnection to nature, to self, to community, this feeling, our power and agency, engaging people, maintaining calm amidst an era of eco anxiety, which we're approaching and reimagining and CO creating a new world. We'll have to do a lot of that in 2025 and we'll talk about that and collective stewardship and support for collective action, because ultimately, with this new administration that's not prioritizing climate, it's up to all of us. So ultimately, we describe our change strategy as convening and bridging the climate community and the psychedelic ecosystem and transforming these insights into action. So how do we inspire the climate community to be more psychedelic or outside the box? How do we better engage the psychedelic community in the climate crisis? And so year one, we focused on embodiment, education and content and building our mycelial network. In year two, we want to do more around climate action and integration conversation and discourse and multi level participation, right? Because it's up to all of us, from consumers to systems change, and we're also going to be growing our mycelial network. So we're also working to identify psychedelic climate solutions, things that are really outside the box, small, high leverage actions for big change, ones that address the root of a problem, ones that are inspired by psychedelic thinking or plant medicine experiences. So many of you know who we are, but from founders, entrepreneurs, change makers, we have this engaged community, and we've act. I don't know how many of you are aware, but we've had a fair amount of press, so some pieces we have been sharing in our newsletter. Other pieces have been picked up after psychedelic climate week. So that's really exciting that we're getting this momentum. And this is how we've been working with people raising awareness through education events, about leaders, about solutions, generating outcomes for select psycho initiatives, one of which I'll tell you about in a moment. But I think everyone is aware if you've been reading our emails and then co hosting consciousness expanding experience legally. So we had our launch experience with nocturnal medicine, a climate consciousness meditation, and we'd like to do more of that. So connected leadership. We just celebrated a nice win. We helped fill two cohorts in the Netherlands with Bennett Zellner, who's a psycho spotlight member. And it was the first study and program for psychedelics, leadership, creativity and decision making. And they actually were just noted in the times over the weekend or the past few days. So that was a really nice way to share the momentum that's happening for some people in our group, and we also were able to pull off psychedelic climate week. So we hope that this year, it can be even bigger than ever, but ultimately, we are well positioned to be this gateway to transform this raised consciousness into meaningful climate action going forward. So there's some other different things that we're exploring, from bridging this states of being with doing and climate action integration. John Burmeister, in our group, is working on journey protocols for inhabiting nature and inspiring action, and we are working on these mycelial networks for global change. So down here, you can see that we've got a lot of inquiries going for different cities around the world, and ultimately, we want to do even more of these education and awareness to grow the psychedelic climate ecosystem. The big, hairy, audacious goal, of course, is to have this big consciousness shift. So I'm going to stop here and go back, and I'm going to share an agenda in a minute. But ultimately, I wanted to thank each of you for being here, for participating, because it's been a journey since Earth Month 2023 and we're getting a lot of great momentum right now. And so it's because of you that this is happening. So in terms of just a few announcements before we we really get into the format of today. But
here we go.
You know, we are now converting officially into fully a non profit, so we have been fiscally sponsored by the sustainable Futures Institute. We do have a fundraising focus right now so that we can continue to grow these programs. I've enrolled in Elena Wasserman unstoppable program for investors for climate we do have our first major gift coming in from an anonymous donor, and so we'll be looking at how to allocate that for programs for the year ahead. We're looking at ways to expand the current programmatic features that are working well. So for example, we have a wonderful Whatsapp group that people have been engaged with. We want to build up subgroups for different cities. But most importantly, I think, out of today, as we are growing into this new year of uncertainty and increasing, you know, climate crisis and issues that the new administration is likely not going to address in any kind of sufficient way. You know, I really see a future now that's up to us, but I want to hear everyone's vision and ideas for you know what you're thinking of yourself, and we'll go into a facilitation to encourage that. But also, you know, what can you see our group doing and contributing that would be really meaningful? And so this is a wonderful opportunity to share feedback. And wow, we had 40 people RSVP today, and 40 show up. And so that was actually quite unexpected. So that's that's really positive, and I'm so grateful for your participation. So now it's been, we were able to do a lot, actually in just eight minutes with that intro. So thank you for bearing with me. I'd like to shift to introductions, because it's such a good opportunity that we have everyone here. So I'd love everyone to share your name, your location, and one word or phrase describing your vision for the new year. So I'm going to go first as an example. Hi, I'm Marissa Feinberg from New York, and my word is, it's up to us. And you can also say your organization name, if you like. So I'm going to start just calling people out to continue the structure and the order that I see them next, Althea,
hi. I'm Althea Northcross, and I do Hypno psychedelics work, and I think that collective consciousness is here, shifting is here, and I'm excited to be a part of that
beautiful thank you. Next we have Adam.

Hi. Erika Spanger, I'm in Massachusetts. I am someone who's had a decade spanning career in climate science and communication. I'm not here on behalf of my organization, however, that will take a little work, I think, but I'm really excited to be here, and it's been really wonderful to learn about this community. It's my first time connecting with you all. I think my phrase for the years would be an Ursula Le Guin quote or paraphrasing, owning what it is to be realists of a larger reality. Isabel.
Hi, my name is Isabel, and my organization is spiral journey. I am in Alameda, California. Today I'm in Sara and my words for this year is resilience. Great. Eva.
Hey everyone. I'm Eva McGarry. I am in Brooklyn. I my company is striatum consulting, so within the communications, public relations and congressional outreach world, and my word for the year is grounding, not getting lost in the sauce, whatever sauce that may be. So thanks. Marissa,

next. I believe it's pronounced Koen, but I might be wrong.
Yes, it's Koen. It's Dutch. I'm originally from Amsterdam. I'm now in Nairobi, Kenya, where my wife and I work for climate here at the UN it's for her that we are here. My main brand is Portier, and I design high quality stash cases for psychedelics to force more high quality use. My word is integration.

Thank you. Next we have. Mick,

And so my next year's worth is going to be action to really add value. So if any of you need help, please reach out. I love building companies, and great to see a fellow Dutchman here.
Wonderful. And just in case you're wondering, our next session is also going to be about ask and offers. We'll do that after the introductions as well. But thank you for putting that out there. We have someone logged in as NC Digital Clinic.
Everyone? I'm Nitin chillara. I'm just here saying hello. I'm representing my new consultancy, NC Digital Clinic, currently from Connecticut. I'm between second and third years of residency training, hopefully dueling and em and FM. But other than that, I consult independently for various companies and just here to join and see what this community is about and see if I can contribute or just collaborate in some way. My word for the new year is reclaiming, because a big part of the work I do is really reclaiming a lot of the stuff that was drawn in from Eastern, the eastern part of the world, blended into the western part of the world. So it's really about reclaiming, this next year, to taking back what was rooted on either side of the world. Nitin
Dr, Ron, you there?
He was there before,
okay, got it unmuted it now, yeah, so, yeah. So, my name is Nitin Ron. I am a neonatologist, newborn and premature baby specialist. So good to see a fellow resident in emergency medicine over here, and I am affiliated with Cornell and Columbia as Associate Professor of Pediatrics. Exciting thing is that we are doing research on love, compassion and mindfulness in order to save little babies life, and we are extending it on to climate change. So my I'm based in Staten Island, and work in Brooklyn at Methodist Hospital, the vision for the future, the research on neuroscience won the best research award at American Academy of Pediatrics, and I want to extend this to holding hands together and achieving super powers through mindfulness and meditation and bringing about a change in our world and our circumstances. Thank you.

I'm not ready to quite jump into 2025 but I have a feeling that my my words just be, are going to be very applicable for next year too.
Thank you. Rae Rita,
Hi everyone. I'm new to the group. Marissa Neil, connected me with you yesterday, so I'm happy to be here. And I'm also based in Brooklyn. I'm a nurse practitioner, and I've been in public health and sexual medicine for the last like 15 years, but I've always been very curious about coming into, like, the conservation world, and so I'm here to learn, and I'm very inspired by the work everyone's doing. And I'm going to try to see how I can, like, blend the two, or transition into maybe, like water conservation. Yeah, and my bestie is here from Berlin. Hi.
Okay, I guess I'll introduce my I'm Stephanie Sheng, and I'm here right now in New York. I'm based in Germany, in Berlin. I work in psychedelic integration, and I've always just been really interested in bio cultural conservation as well. But yeah, would love to to get connected and see what is happening. And I guess my word for next year would be, yeah, more healing. But that blends and moves between individual collective, yeah,
I guess I forgot my words. They would be collective harmony, collective liberation. And I also forgot to mention I was volunteering with horizon psychedelic medicine conference for the last 10 years, actually 12 years, and I trained in MDMA and ketamine therapy, but I decided not to go into the therapy route. But yeah, so happy to connect with everyone. Thank you.
Thank you so much, and it looks like we actually skipped over. Lenore. Lenore, please chime in.
Hey, Marissa, it's really nice to be here. I'm glad I was able to make it. I'm a transformational coach and author, and I also am a career advisor for sustainability MBA students at Bard. And I'm based in the Pennsylvania, Lehigh Valley, I would say my word is conscious career creation and, yeah, looking forward to a more caring and compassionate world.
Next we have Robin's AI note taker is Robin here? All right, we're going to move to Sachiko.
Hi. My name is Sachiko uzumi, based in West Chelsea, Manhattan and Hudson Valley. So I'm a principal design is love, and my focus is has been on inclusive culture and design on over 30 years of experience. So my word is, design is love. And what can I do for psychedelics, for climate? Action through design. And also, I want to start out like, you know, deep conversations with the empathy with people around me first and my students, the teacher persons. Yeah, Sara.
And next we have Sara. I just she might have just hopped off. Sara, you still here, if not? Yeah,
I'm here. Great. Hi. I am Sara Maria from Reykjavik Iceland. I am the founder of the psychedelics as medicine psychedelic conference in Reykjavik, February next year. And my words are expansive, connectedness. And I'm very happy to be here with you all. Thank you.
Thank you for being here. Next we have Simeon.
Hey everybody. Good to see. A lot of familiar faces, uh, Simeon, with a JS fund and doing a lot of permaculture agriculture stuff across the Congo Basin. So very excited about this group. And my word is Portia, because I ordered this I don't know when, like, two years ago. I don't know if you can tell even the version, and I just freaking opened it right now. I forgot I ordered it. Holy cow, an eye shade, a scale. Anyway, that's my word. Thank you for the reminder. And if you're the creator, I assume, brava, this looks amazing. Can't wait to use it all right. Thank you,
amazing, amazing. Thank you. Simeon. Next we have Steven.
Hi, I'm Steven Radowitz. I'm Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer at New Shama, which is a psychedelic ketamine IV infusion program in here in Manhattan, New York, we treat generally treatment resistant mood disorders, various different ones, with IV ketamine, with a pro, you know, specific protocol. And my word for today or for the year, I guess is balance or calibration. So
you hear, it's possible. Tatyana hopped off next
No, I'm here. You were muted. Go
ahead. Go ahead.
Hi. I'm Tatyana Voloshin, and I'm connecting today from Miami. It's great to be here. I am a founder of unidalix Collective, where we work with a Manito muscaria sourced from the pristine Carpathian Mountains, a true barometer of nature's health, and we use it to guide transformative journeys and holistic wellness. And my word for 2025 is transcend.
Okay? And I see Timothy. Is AI. Here is Timothy here.
And if not Zoe.
And did anyone not go because people have been hopping on and off. So I want to use this next moment here as an opportunity to make sure everyone has been introduced. Okay, well, thank you just looking around.
Oh,
go ahead. Oh, Steve, hi.
Oh, great. Two Steves are better than one. My name is Steve rohans. I'm the founder of a company called River light health. We are a senior services company in Minnesota, process of getting out of the healthcare industry. And when Marissa told me that she was opening up this incredible organization, there's really two things that I'm very passionate about, and that's psychedelics and climate change. So grateful to be here and just thank you everybody for your hard work.
Thank you. Thank you, Steve. I didn't realize we had two Steve RS on the call. Great. Did anyone else not go?
Okay,
okay, great. So next we're going to move. I mean, I just, and I just want to say what an honor it is to have each of you here. So many of you have been so pivotal, whether it's been showing up to events, referring people, giving advice, having coffees. I'm just super, super grateful for your participation. And to have you here today, it's really wonderful to see how this is coming together. And so next, we want to have this section for you, this asks and gives. So we're making good time. We have about half of our session left. So if you want to share, one ask something that you need, and one give, you know, something that you can offer. So for example, I think on my end with Saika, something that we need is we're looking for people who want to be brand sponsors, so people who want to be involved in education and awareness events and in terms of something to offer. You know, I really want to hear that'll go into our visioning for what's next, because I want to offer to honor and hear what everyone sees this community as contributing next. And I'm really excited for that, to be able to hold that and to take these messages and bounce them off our other advisors and community members to see what we can do in 2025 together. So I guess I'll keep calling people around, because that makes for a nice facilitation and timing. Again, if you want to share, one ask something that you need, and one give something you can offer. And they give could also, or they asked, could be to share something that you have done with the community a way that people can engage as well. Let's see take it away. Adam,
hi, yeah, I'll start off with the give. I have a lot of cultivation and business knowledge around starting mushroom farms. I'm one of the founders of small hold. We grew tons and tons of mushrooms around the country and shipped them. So if you all ever have questions around that, or organizing businesses and logistics and stuff, I can do that and ask is, I'm just here as a fly on the wall, new to this space and interested in to see where it can take me. So if you have something you want to share with me, I'm here.
Great. I think it's a dean is note taker only here. So ADINA, if you want to say something, chime in. If not, we're gonna go to Alana,
hi again. I'm fairly new to the community. I'm actually helping a friend of mine that's launching a business in the space. So definitely learning a lot. So just really here to kind of connect with people, get to know the community, and see how we can all work together in the future, as we come out of stealth mode for my friends organization,
right? Althea,
I am Althea Northcross, and I am trained in hypnosis, and I have been developing Hypno psychedelics, and I'm interested specifically in creating a tool that would be based on helping people make climate conscious changes. So my my ask and my give is the same thing. I'm giving free sessions in January to anyone in this group that would like to sign up to try Hypno psychedelics with me, which is a known non molecule way of kind of revivifying experiences that you've had in the past. And the ask would be that you are in communication with me afterwards to see how could this help the movement? And so that's really, it's really something I'm passionate about my whole life long. And yeah, I'd like to offer sessions in January to anyone here on this call. So if you're interested, just go to Althea northcross.com and scroll to the bottom of the page and you can sign up for the session.
Thank you, Althea. And this is reminding me, I think, for all these asks, and give those if you want to, after you share, put your takeaway and how someone can contact you in the chat. That would be really helpful. And I'll do the same myself. Okay, next we have Alina
there. Thank you guys. So I am advising a lead company that is helping coaches and therapists who are working on psychedelic integration. So if you are a coach or therapist and would like to help us beta test, please reach out to me. Would be happy to get you involved. And my give is that I am very personally interested in working at the intersection of food nutrition and psychedelics and plasticism. So if I'd love to work with and explore whoever is in the space currently needing support many of those areas. I'm a clinical dietitian, so I'm happy to offer my expertise and collaborate with anyone who is in that space as well. Thank you,
wonderful Althea, did we just went to Annie? Sorry. Go ahead. I
Hi,
yeah, offers and asks. Right now, I'm, I'm, I have a lot of energy around networking, collaboration. I have a lot of community experience. I don't know that I have anything quite tangible if my services include sitting services. I do mentorship around psychedelics. I went through the vital program, and I have about 16 years of pretty diverse psychedelic experience. But yeah, I'm I would I have a company with a product I can share? So if folks are interested in giving testimonials or supporting us to follow, I can share that with a promotional deal for those in this group, so I'll share that in the chat. Yeah, I'm starting a farm, so I have a lot of asks. As I'm doing a lot of work, physical labor and trying. My goals are to bridge the psychedelics into this and herbalism, which psychedelics is intrinsically the same as. So, yeah, we'll definitely be following up around that.
Great. Thank you, sure.
And I'm just being mindful of time keeping so I'm going to put a formula in the chat for people to use. I'm looking for and I'm offering to give, and I think that will help just keep the flow going, so that we hear everyone. Okay, next we have Douglas.
Hey, Douglas might have stepped away.
I just don't have, I don't have a thing. I'm just, I'm here in support of the whole, this whole movement.
Thank you. All right, next we have we have Ed.
Again, my offer is help with anything relating to human rights networks or international law or running nonprofits which I have a lot of experience with. And the ask is help with a project that I'm trying to help, which is designed. It's a strategy designed to elevate indigenous voices on uses of their sacred medicine and to create legal protections for that. And the specific ask is for access to funding and influence, and it's to support directly the yawanawa through their leadership. So it's direct. Thanks
next Louis, because he has to go soon.
Yeah, thank you.
Experience building our office and yeah, in terms of giving, we have a lot of educational research like to use with their clients. So you ever have a client that's seeking to learn from you know, a very holistically oriented
dogs with therapists on their own who are seeking support. So via our website, there's a lot of free resources available. And yeah, back to what I'm looking for, I guess the mainly it's guidance with building a nonprofit and then maybe signing
collaboration on retreat events. We do host retreats and events, but we collaborate with people. Lewis, I don't mean to be and meet everyone. Thank you,
sure. Thank you, Louis, it was hard to hear you. So if you want to just pop that in the chat. The takeaway, yeah, um, next arena.
Hello again. Um, my offer is, you know, I think I'm a neighbor. So what if you need boots on the ground help organizing, setting up, setting up event spaces, you know, just anytime reach out. I'm also a graphics person, so I always can help with that kind of stuff. And I guess my ask is, yeah, I follow me on Instagram. Because the more followers I have, the more my stuff will get pushed out. And my stuff is all about imagery, psychedelic imagery, mixing with the natural world, amongst other things. So that would be great. Thank you.
Thank you, Edward,
yeah, I'll, I'll make my standard offer, which is, since I'm in Brooklyn, and many people here are, if you have someone in the psychedelic community who needs housing for a couple days, I have space for for people. My ask is for collaborators in anybody who might be interested in building psychedelic integration retreat center and and eco village in upstate New York and but where I am right now, what I could really use help with is in budget projections, because I suck at that, and I'm opening up my business plan to other people, and I need to also make generic budget projections for that people can adapt to their particulars. I
Ed, thank you so much. Edward Erika,
oh, yeah, these are the first draft thoughts. But I guess in terms of what I could offer, I don't really see the climate science community here, and I imagine there's some sort of bridging role. That's not to say that they're not involved. This is a small subset of this much, much larger network. I get that. But if there's some way that I could help to be a connection to that community, I'd love to offer and maybe my my ask is, I think my ask is connected to that. I'd like to find ways to opportunities, to model, really what it is to to put our voices from the science community to work in this broader effort. I don't know what that looks like, but I am a, you know, long time climate communicator whose theory of change turns out was wrong. We don't need more science. We need the consciousness shift that we're talking about, and I'm eager to start to talk about that. So I'm, I'm looking for opportunities. Thank you,
wonderful Eva,
hello, so I can offer a wide network of of people interested in this convergence, and also have been in the communications part of the field too. So that's spanning between drug development nonprofit veteran access and and also retreat centers in outside of the US so happy to share the network. And if anyone has any questions, feel free to reach out. And my ask is, yeah, tell people that I have a network and that I'm happy to talk to people and get information over to to folks. So yeah, thanks everyone again.
Great. And we have a good suggestion for everyone to just also keep putting your asks and offers and your contact in the chat. Okay, great. Next we have Isabel, sorry
about that. Shuttle So briefly, I just recently defended my dissertation on the convergence between event study and psychedelics and how psychedelics can help people develop deeper resilience to deal with climate change challenges, and I'm looking for opportunities to continue that research, particularly in association with retreat centers that would like to offer collaboration and funding for continuing the work. But also I'm putting together a framework to provide services to people who are first responders or who work in the trenches of climate change. And this work would incorporate psychedelics and is based also on the work that we connect by Joanna Macy. So the combination of the two, I think, is a really powerful looking forward to collaborate with people that want to help funding to continue the research. And in terms of offering, I have about 30 years of experience holding space with an expanded states, and I do integration work. I'm happy to offer integration to anyone who Thank you.
Thank you. All right.
Next back to Joey,
hello again. My offer is that here in New York, I have a wonderful community where we're having gatherings all the time and sacred ceremony and connecting with different indigenous elders who are often front lines of climate action, where they live, either in the Amazon or in communities that are most affected. So I have access to a lot of these climate leaders that are on the front lines every day and when they come to New York, offering their their teachings and their their spiritual connection with the planet. And my ask, I guess, is just more opportunities to connect to more people. Invite more people to our gatherings, events, event sponsors, new spaces to host gatherings. And yeah, I'll put my my contact right here in the chat. Thank you.
Thank you. Joey, next Koen,
well, thank you, Marissa, for inviting me first and foremost. So I'm kind of looking for help on how to start something like Saika here in Nairobi, Kenya, as big organizations like the UN of their headquarters here in global climate policy, I'm offering my skills in branding design. So I've worked for the past decades helping retreats and research organizations in the Netherlands, and yeah, Simeon just showed my box. If anybody wants some free goodies, go to my website. Oh, and yeah, if anybody has connections in New York, will be really, really great to get the products there in return, happy to give you a free case. Yeah. But mostly I'm looking for advice on how to start something here. I think Africa really deserves something like Saika, great.
Now we've got a time set up to talk about that, so I'm looking forward to that.
All right, next. Lenore,
hi everyone. In addition to being a transformational coach. I'm an energy medicine practitioner and shamanic healer. I work with crystals and Taro. I also have more than 20 years of experience as an executive marketer and product launch expert. So I'm offering a free 30 minute discovery call, slash strategy session. If any of you want to do some visioning, I'm happy to do a little Tarot reading, whatever can support you and getting more clarity on your purpose. My work is now. I'm I'm getting ready to launch a book. So I'm looking for opportunities to speak on podcasts or present in different venues on what it looks like to live and work in alignment with your values. So appreciate any referrals for speaking opportunities, and I put my information a little earlier up in the chat.
Wonderful. Thank you so much. Liz, you
Hi everyone. My offer is, I'm a long time filmmaker. I run a video firm focused on climate solutions, so My offer is to offer any video strategy that anybody would like for. I don't know what the timeframe would be, but just I'll put my information in the chat and particularly focus on climate solutions. And my ask is, I'm looking for communication strategies that are funded around climate initiatives that are funded and ongoing. So if you have any connections to anybody running one of those initiatives, I'm open. Um, yeah, it's so cool to hear about all of your careers here.
Thank you. Liz, next, Martha.
Hi everybody. I'm Martha Williams again. I actually live in the Hudson Valley. For anybody who's up this way in Kingston, my ask is I have this process break bread world, and we're going on tour. So we're looking for communities who are interested in bringing this process and to their war into your world, and we are looking for 12 to 30 people that you'd like to host. So if you're interested in that or curious, come to our website, and we'll be doing that in the February to April timeframe. Offer is if you have any challenging conversations that you're dealing with, or you're looking to have an event and you're looking to make it to work with the art of gathering. I'm I have three spots for like, a sort of combo conversation coaching and consultation on gathering, so just let me know and I'm happy to chat with you.
Um, okay, next we have Nitin.
Don't know if he's still here. Rae,
okay, yeah, so I can talk if I Yeah, so my give would be a lot of the research I'm doing is on mindfulness and meditation, and I will be very happy to help somebody with a love and compassion based meditation. We have used it on our little premature babies in the intensive care unit, and the one we used it on just turned eight yesterday. She was 400 grams, less than three quarters of a pound. So it's super powerful. And I'm lucky enough to speak at three TED conferences on that. So I will be very happy to share the neuroscience of mindfulness and meditation as a practicing doctor. My ask is that I am starting my own YouTube channel again to channelize love and compassion in our everyday life, and I would definitely love and appreciate some social media help with that. So we immensely grateful. If you know, anybody could give me a hand with that. Thank you.
Thank you so much. Stacey, I see you're here. Go ahead.
Hello. Can you hear me? Okay?
So many familiar faces here. Thank you so much, Marissa for organizing this. Thank you to this organization that you've created, and everyone here sending lots of love to everyone here. So my offer is a couple of different things. One is some kind of volunteering to help out your event or your project. I'm between North Carolina and Brooklyn, so I was able to help out with the psych climate week event in New York City a little bit back in September. My offer is also I have 12 years of experience in natural product development, so primarily herbal products, dietary supplements and healthy foods and psychedelic products and cannabis products. So that includes quality, regulatory and formulation, that kind of thing. I've also been working in developing participatory decentralized research methods in community. So that's an offer as well, and that is also an ask. I'm working on developing this business entity, maybe, and hybrid with a nonprofit around participatory decentralized community research, and so far, I've been testing herbs, but also some other Holistic Health methods. I could include psychedelics as well. So I'm looking for funding for that, but also just collaboration and help with development. And I'm looking for paid work as well. As I've been doing a lot of entrepreneurial activities, and as some of you probably know, it has some ups and downs. So yeah, that's I'll drop it in the chat with my contact info as well. Thank you.
Thank you so much. Okay, and next, Simeon,
I thought I already said, all the sudden, or did I already start using the poor da kit, and now I have no sense of this consensus reality? Hey, I'm Simeon again, and J Liz, fun permaculture, a bunch of Africa initiatives, and feels very nostalgic in My Word is poor TA, is this the same prompt as before? Was I completely distracted? It's asked
and gives, yeah, and
oh, my ask is someone to sample this with me over the weekend or try it out, not sample it and ask and give? Is, I'll give you the opportunity to share my poor ta with anybody who wants, alright, that's me.
So just to give an update, we've got four minutes left. We have some people who haven't yet done their asks and gives. And then I also really want to encourage everyone to put these in the chat and get some feedback on visioning. So we might want to do a separate I want to encourage us to all use the chat strongly for the next few minutes. I think that that's a nice way to make sure all the asks and gives will come across. But if people have an extra 10 minutes at the end to talk about visioning for psycho for the coming year, that would be great. And for people who have to hop off, maybe I will follow up with you separately, because I would love your ideas and ingenuity. So let's just everyone, take a minute, if you have not yet done your asks and gives, put them in the chat. We are going to be doing a recap and circulating this for sure, so everyone will have access to these. Okay, good. We see we've got three new ones. Excellent, okay, Koen says he promises he didn't pay for that. Okay, great, amazing. Douglas has to run, but he will think about how to help publicize everyone's effort via his team human podcast. That's great. Okay, so keep putting those in the chat, and we will be circulating this a few things. So for one, if you're not in the WhatsApp group, you will receive an invite to join after this. And then, if you were in the WhatsApp group and on the email list, you received an invite. An invite. So we have, we have a couple of minutes left now. So now that we get a sense of who's here, the potential that we have together, the co creation potential for the new year. You know what? What can our community contribute collectively? And obviously, we have a couple of minutes left. If anyone had ideas that were sparked today, would love if you want to stay on, if you can't stay on, put them in the chat or email me. I think everyone has my contact info. You can always like, DM me anytime. You can always email me. But you know, as we look to a year of uncertainty, the way that we're trying to plan psych up programming is that we want to plan some things with the theme that it is up to us. But also, you know, giving that politically things are shifting. What are some evergreen things that we can do no matter what, that won't be taken away from us potentially. So, whether you were inspired by something that someone said today, whether you've had an idea for a program that's been on your mind for a while that you'd like to share, or whether you know something was shared at the beginning in that deck that I was showing that you said, oh, yeah, that would be a great idea. We really want to open the floor for people to to help shape what we're doing in 2025 and beyond. So would love, would love any any ideas, feel free to put them in. And I'm going to stay on for anyone who wants to. And then if anyone wants to unmute themselves and share something, please do that.
I'll say something. It's Martha here. I think something that, because the mycelial network, it's all about this kind of, like Wide Web. I think practice some, and maybe you're already doing this, so apologies if you are. But like, a practice of something, some practice for celebrating the network, and that's either spotlighting or something, but something that some sort of way to celebrate the network, and to be talking about why one would even do that, in terms of why it even relates, making the connection between that and climate and psychedelics.
Thank you. Martha, other ideas.
Sorry. Hi, Marissa. I know we spoke about this a few times, well, once or twice, Soviet, psychedelic assembly, I think we're talking about it. There's certain things, climate wise, that are apolitical, right? Like, look at, you know, the desert of the desertification of the entire west coast. Like, you know, there are things ie starting to raise money to get beavers in certain places in order so that they could start to tributaries, like actionable things that might not cost a lot of money, that might, I don't know, but that's an apolitical thing. That's a local level thing to having to get in on the local level to see, like, how do we affect change? You know, because the political, the politics the, you know, yes, the current political environment is definitely not helpful to healing the earth, right? What's what? What's coming so, I guess, but the new administration has nothing to do with what's on the local level at all. Right? So I just want to bring that point up. And I think also that if there's something that we can do that's actionable, you know, that we could all take pride like, wow, I contributed to that. You know, I think that's a beautiful thing, and that's what I had to add. So thank you.
Thank you so much. Sue Adam, go ahead. Yeah, I've
had some success hosting small panels on a local level in the past, and getting some exposure for those by filming them. And I know it sounds small and local, but also the effect was big. We got together, for instance, one time, across functional panel of two mycelium artists, and then I'm on the board of a nonprofit called the the fungi, the fungal diversity survey, and we brought in some mycologists, and they asked a basic question, which stimulated a conversation for the for the wider audience. Of it was basically Brooklyn designers and product people, but also, you know, some Psych and some farmers. And the question was, you know, look at this subject, and we had a couple subjects through the lens of the mushroom, and so you are the mushroom, and how does this affect you? And it stimulated a conversation that I thought was very, very productive, and it wasn't complicated for people to get, like, the connection to their environment. So maybe I could help organize something like that, if you guys would want,
thank you, Adam. I'll follow up with you. Thank you.
I guess, bouncing off of Adam's point, maybe, like, just start with some sort of preliminary in person gathering, just as, like, a working discussion group or people, let's say it's like, allotted for an hour that everyone just bounces ideas, and then from there, people can ideate further. I know these are hosted a lot for, like, startup companies, so yeah, just an idea maybe for the new year. I know I'm new to this place, but I'm just kind of throwing in what I'm hearing.
Thank you. Much appreciated. Go ahead and Koen,
yeah, it's something that Steve said. So I'm not American, but I would say see this also as an opportunity to connect with people on the other side of the political political spectrum. I know New York has its bubble. I've been there many times, but I feel like now could be an opportunity to connect with that side, because a lot of my friends from across the world, be they in South Africa, in Eastern Europe, they are a little bit more conservative, but they are really into psychedelics, and they are really also just more inclined to have these spiritual experiences, to reconnect with nature. So I feel like this is an opportunity, rather than a polarizing moment, so perhaps, yeah,
frame it that way. Yeah, but thank you.
Okay, who else I
you know, I appreciate people staying on for a little bit longer. So I would encourage you just to unmute yourself and share whatever comes to mind about you know, what we can do together for 2025
we could journey together. There might be some really great ideas that come out of that. Just a thought,
we could forest bathe together.
Well, what did you say? Arena? We could
forest bathe. We can park bathe. I don't know if we can forest bathe. This is like more local level stuff, but unless we want to take a voyage upstate, which would be fabulous. But, yeah,
I think it would be great to do cross pollination, like, you know, we can interview each other, because I work more in I want to think of it as the white area, but really it's a gray area, because the Manito is not prohibited. And every time I want to say it's not prohibited yet, but it's still legal. And it's something that you know, when you guys working with the heroin journeys, it's very difficult to bring your person from, you know, zero to 100 but you know, there is so many in between, so many modalities in between that we're not talking about. They're not necessarily psychedelic that would be psycho active, or they could be legal psychedelics that also still exist, right? So maybe we can circumvent that while working together, while bringing this group together as but I feel that cross pollination works really great. You know, I can interview you for my audience. You can interview me for yours, etc.
Thank you. I see Stacey. Raised her hand. Go ahead, Stacey,
maybe I'm still here. Can you hear me? Okay, awesome. Forgive me if someone already named this in so many words or in different words, but I just could see sort of it could be an online gathering with breakout rooms where each room is around, like a subject area or a working area of interest, so that we could sort of facilitate more explicit collaboration, maybe even we find, you know, collaborators or business partners, or you know, work together in this space. So there could be like Breakout Rooms per subject area or something like that.
Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, I
was feeling that today, like this was a nice way for everyone to see each other, but to go deeper, we could. We could do that next for sure. Yeah, I'm glad you agree. Ed also, okay, that seems to be something nice for consensus. Maybe
I can share something. Marissa, yeah, so this is again, about the power of mindfulness, because we regard meditation as something very passive, but the research that we did involve just eight minutes once a week on our nurse practitioners, on attendings like me and the whole medical crew taking care of very stressful circumstances like the life or death of a newborn baby. And I'll tell you one thing, eight minutes once a week, and in six weeks, okay, the brain waves, the chaotic ones, already started quieting down. So we did the EEG studies before and after burnout, questionnaires before and after the meditation. So let's not underestimate the power of just being calm, compassionate and mindful. It really is a superpower, and this stimulated us to start the baby cuddler program at my hospital. So we have volunteer cuddlers come in and just love and cuddle these tiny premature babies, and they're far better balanced as the neonatal babies with far lesser complications. So love is a strong energy, and let's preface all of this that we have with love and compassion.
Thank you. Thank you so much. Nitin, okay, we have some more shares in the chat. Who else would like to share? I
um, while we're here, I mean, if we are going to do more working groups, right? Or breakouts. Does do people want to suggest some themes for these that could be interesting, right? While we have a few extra minutes here, if people need to hop off, they can hop off. But if you want to unmute yourself, you can share. Or Ed, Ed, you're raising your hand.
Go ahead. Yeah, a few that come to mind. I'm really impressed that that the geographic diversity of the membership is is growing, and there's a reference to that, and that would be a great topic to just talk about. How would one scale up on a global basis? I have a strong interest in in advocacy and global policy, but that's a pretty narrow interest. I think some other people share the passion, but maybe not everybody. So that's another good topic. There's a lot about personal actualization and things like that. That could be a topic, and not many other topics, but those are a few that came to mind.
Thank you. No, I definitely want, um, sort of bridge building right between political parties at this time. I think that could be really strong too, coming together unity. I wrote those down. Thank you so much. Anyone else have ideas for breakout group themes?
How about some insight, like, there's people that have been sorry to speak at the same time, there are people that have been protecting the environment and the planet for 1000s of years, and maybe we set up some space to let them lead us and show us the way to best live in harmony with this planet that we're all on. Yes,
awesome. Thank you, Joey. Yeah, someone else, I think, was about to chime at the same time as Joey,
I was just gonna say, I'm always stoked to connect with people who do direct work with permaculture and restoration projects and that direct Earth work as I'm starting a farm, and I'm an ecologist around this stuff. So that would be a breakout room I would be interested in
any any other ideas, and it could be anything, generally, yeah.
Hi everyone. I just want to say thank you. Thank you, Marissa, for organizing, and thank you everyone for all your work. It's very inspiring. And I really, I love the idea of like Earth work, learning from people who've been doing this for 1000s of years. And also maybe, I think some people mentioned it, but was it like climate despair, um, using, yeah, maybe one breakout room could be around, like, how to mitigate burnout, despair, um, refilling the spirit. And, yeah, I think, um, if anyone missed it, I want to, I'm part of, like a psychedelic medicine list served. So if anyone was curious, I'd be happy to connect you guys. And I want to say thank you again. I'm just gonna log off.
Thank you. And I so appreciate people staying on a few extra minutes, really. Any other any other thoughts to share? I
I'll go ahead, Annie,
I'm kind of a different topic a little bit, but like your you know, you posted like interest in sponsorship. I'm also curious about like, community partnership type of stuff, if, for those of us, like me who do not have a lot of extra funds and could use some, but just a way to help, like mutual support, maybe without a financial exchange around that potentially.
Yes. So one of the things that we want to do with this initial wave of funding is really build up ways to support the existing community. So, for example, you know, when people have things to have a more open newsletter where people can submit their content for inclusion, so that we can promote, you know, all the different things that Joey is doing, or all the different things that that you're involved with Annie. So really build the ecosystem and and spotlight what everyone is is contributing. You know, we don't want it to just be what Saika is doing, or just a select group of partners, for sure. So that is, that is one thing we want to build. So to create, like, more efficient system for submissions, like an air table or Google form that will be included and edited often. Yeah. And then, you know, for those of you who submitted, I mean not who submitted, but who shared some really great ideas right now for breakout groups and themes, you know, I will definitely be following up with you, because there was a lot of really great ideas here today. So thank you. This is really wonderful food for thought as we enter 2025 you know, it's been such a privilege to work with each of you and to have each of you involved in building this community, and just to see where it's it's naturally growing and evolving to become and just, I feel like I'm doing my best to keep up with it and to honor it, and to honor all of the different aspects of the community coming together, from you know what is being done by each of you, to the ancestral wisdom that has come for 1000s of years before us, to looking ahead to the Future of how the political landscape is shifting, and, yeah, just, just doing our best here, right? And if anyone else has any other closing thoughts, I'll be on for a few extra minutes, and I'll be I'll be here. I'll be listening, and I just so appreciate everyone's engagement. Thank you.
