Thank you, Deenah, so much for joining me today and sharing about your experience inside Beyond Web Copy. I would love it if you could tell us all a little bit about you and your business.
I'm Deenah, I'm a website copywriter, and I started my business words to live by in 2021, so almost two years ago. And yeah, I have slowly been freelancing part time. And do working mostly with online service providers, but sometimes brick and mortar stores as well.
Amazing. So what had you you mentioned you've been doing it for a couple of years now. So what had you sort of been trying in the past when writing web copy? And what was that experience, like, before you joined Beyond Web Copy?
I was pretty much piecing everything together, what I learned was from, you know, Google, and blogs and YouTube, so just a lot of free resources. And I guess I was kind of hesitant about courses, because I had, you know, this idea that, um,
whereas if there was content, offered it for free, but then I would see, you know, there is always like, a, a block, like a wall to the learning. And I would always have questions that you can't necessarily ask because you're watching a YouTube video. And so yeah, then I decided, you know, I would take a course, I took a copywriting course. But it was focused on SEO, and another one, which was focused on email marketing. And yeah, after that, I I learned that there were some course creators who were like doing some very shady stuff. So I was, you know, very conscious conscious, I guess about who I would want to work with? Or who what courses I'd want to take.
Yeah, what was your experience like inside Beyond Web Copy?
I'm Beyond Web Copy was, like, probably one of the only courses that was always excited, like to see the modules drop, and it definitely motivated me to, to keep going at it. So I can, you know, like, not be so behind even though it's, it's still like a soft paced course, but it's still kind of pushed me in a way to, to keep at it. Because I think when you're first taking a course, you have this excitement, but then you kind of lose momentum. So that was interesting. But I also just like the, the material itself, and learning about, you know, the empathy map and the 60 minute story map, which I find to be super helpful. And I was working at a work on a website at the time, I think towards the end of the course I was and to be able to use it and apply it. And of course, for like my own website, which I'm slowly redoing, has been like, very beneficial. And I think it was like perfect timing,
what have been some of the results of our work together. You already mentioned that you've applied it in a couple of places, other clients, websites and your own, I finally
have a clear process of how I'm going to approach projects now on and I feel like, I'm going to do them faster because like even with the projects that I well, it was a little bit longer because the client took a while getting back to me but it was still shorter than what I would usually take for like previous website projects. So yeah, I just feel like I have a framework now to work from and a guideline whereas before I was kind of doing like keyword research one like one then A and then review mining another day. And then I didn't necessarily have like a checklist. But now I feel like I have a checklist to go by.
Awesome, that's so great that you're saving time. I mean, it just means you can use that time to earn more money or just relax or do whatever you want with your life. How has the programme changed the way you write web copy?
I definitely feel more equipped and prepared in what I'm doing. I feel like before I was second guessing myself a lot. But now, I know for sure, like with this, this last website project that I did, like, I know for sure that I did the best I could and that I know applied strategies that you talked about, and there was really no second guessing. So yeah, I definitely feel feel more confident with what I learned from Beyond Web Copy.
that's awesome. And how did it feel handing that over to the client?
felt really good. Yeah. Because, and she, she liked it as well. But I just felt like, you know, I'm finally doing the best work that I could be doing. Why? Whereas before, I was never sure. Like, if I was reaching my full potential, I guess.
Ah, so powerful. I love that what a great outcome. So what would you say? Last question, what would you say to people considering sitting on the fence who are like, just not like they think us cover writing is important. And they're thinking maybe now maybe later? What would you have to say to those people?
I would tell them to take the course because I was also on the fence, but I knew that this would definitely give me an edge and I kind of just, you know, pushed push through those fears. And I know, I guess that's easier to say than to do. But as someone who was also on the fence, I would say just to, to do it and to you know, take your time. And if you don't have you know, a website to work on, you know, go back and apply it for your own website. You know, it's probably the best thing that you can do, and you will feel so much better and like you won't have any regrets. I don't have any regrets taking this course. I think this course is like the most impactful one I've taken out of the many that I've taken before. I actually learned something new like this isn't any information you aren't going to find anywhere else. Because it's really unique and you're the only one who's talking about it. So yeah, I would, I would say you know, to take it and to have fun.
