Hey everybody, welcome back to the weekly word with Jada Kay, I am, as always so excited to be with you again. And today I am doing something a little different, I have stepped away from my office and I am occupying a new space in my home. Hopefully, that is a little more accommodating, kind of helping me find my Zen, if you will. So I'm really excited of the change of pace. And I think that once we get into this weekly word, I think it's quite fitting, to be quite honest. But before we do that, I just want to say that if you have not heard, I have started a small book club, where we will be gathering together as a book club for black folks to read beautiful books and beautiful stories that that are important, that are timely, that can heal us that can really just spark good conversation. And for the month of August and September, we will be reading parable of the sower and parable of the talents by the incomparable Octavia e Butler. So if you are interested in joining in for that discussion, which will be at the end of this month, then check out my website, www dot Jeida k storey.com. And you will find the information there in the menu, you can sign up to the newsletter, and that is where all the information will be sent out. So that you can stay in the loop and join us at the end of this month. If you are already signed up, hey, what's up, I'm so excited. Go ahead if you haven't already, start reading the book out. And if you are like me, as I've been going through this book, taking notes and just like allowing myself to be immersed in this world, it really does not feel much different from the world we're living in today. So, you know, there's a lot happening in these stories. But there's a lot happening in our real world. And so I thought that these books would be really important and, and timely for us to read. So if that sounds good to you, check it out. And join me at the end of this month to talk about it. Alright, so with that, let us get into today's weekly word. We are looking at the four of Wands, the four of Wands, which, you know, automatically the first thing that came to me is we need to get our houses in order. It is time to get our houses in order the four of Wands speaks to us. Yes, there's celebration. Yes, there's happiness and joy, and it's a party. It's a good time. It is a time to celebrate, wins. But I think what has stood out to me the most is the stability that is present in this universe. It is so necessary now I feel like more than ever for us to to find and to maintain stability in our home life, or wherever we find home, whoever we can call home. This past this past week, or maybe it was two weeks ago now. JT Perry hosted a Summer Symposium entitled Revive us again. And many of the themes throughout the whole weekend was centered around the Wiz. And when I saw this card, I thought of that song that we all love that Diana sings. When I think of home I think of a place where there's love overflowing. And so I wonder now in your life. And in mine. Where does love overflow? Where can you count on overflowing love? Sometimes the home that we are searching for, doesn't have an address. It might not be a place you can find on a map. But the home exists within relationship within community. And when I think of that, it makes me ponder
The ways in which we can embrace that. In these days, a lot of people have been talking about, you know, the fact that we're in a new month, we're in August, and it just feels like things are just already running amok. The world is just an unsafe place right now we're just being quite frank. And so the promise of a stable home or stability in general, is such an attractive beautiful desire. And so, when I asked the cars, what it is we should embrace this week the car that came out is the devil reversed. And I said, of course, because we're talking about homes, when we're talking about stability, we're talking about things being indecency and an order the devil reverse is asking for us to release our control to let go to know that we can walk away from each and every situation that does not feel like home that is not stable, that is not safe. Now, a little disclaimer here because sometimes situations are actually impossible for us to walk away from without some strategy without planning right? So if you are in a situation where it's not safe for you to move on to a different situation, that's a little different. But I thought that was really important to add that I am specifically speaking about your ability to change your mind and the freedom to do so. That day devil reverse is saying we don't have to settle for crumbs when we are meant to enjoy slices of good delicious sweet cake. Now why would I settle for crumbs when I'm supposed to have the best the creme de la creme and so the devil reverse the saying no more if the people in your life don't make you feel at home no more if the folks who say that they're safe for you. But something does not resonate that in your body like somewhere in your body just feels like no, I think that we run our course. The devil reverse is saying it's okay to embrace that. It's okay to walk away from that because it's time for us all to get our houses in order. It's time for us all to enter into seasons where we look around and the people who are on our left and our right are the people that we have chosen to do life with and who are also choosing us back. Which is interesting because the devil card is like the cousin card to the lovers, which is a car that speaks all about choice all about community all about love. Love that is chosen love with agency love with care, real carrier. Love on your terms. And so when I asked the cars, okay, so if we know that today we're talking about getting things in decency and an order. If this four of Wands is saying, civility, the good times that we that we desire and that we deserve, and that we yearn for are possible within the confines of safety. Then
when we talk about getting our houses in order, we're talking about like a reminds me of the scripture that says, for things to be done in decency and In an order, and so we get to choose what is decent. We decide what behaviors are decent. You can choose No, I don't like to be taught to you that way. You can choose No, I'm not going to allow you to act that way. I'm not going to allow you to be harmful to me or to others in our community. No, I'm not going to shrink myself anymore. I am going to release control in thinking that I have to hold on to every single person, every single Alliance and every single experience in order to matter. It should not be so the devil card reversed is our blessing. It is the key. It our shackles turning to let us go free. So whatever was holding us or whatever we were holding on too much too tightly. We can walk away now. And so how do we do this, we have the nine of pentacles in reverse. The Nine of Pentacles in reverse is a card that is this is someone who's self made this is someone who's done something on their own. But more than that, because we are talking about community here is really asking for us to value ourselves enough to value yourself, your body, your voice, your values. Everything that you bring to the table all of who you are all of you you are going to be when that is center when that is central when that is up front then you will have a clearer picture of what home really means for you. And you will begin to prepare yourself to walk away from that which looks differently and I don't say this to make it lightly is anytime we have to walk away from something anytime we have to say no anytime we have to choose a different path. There's a mourning there's a loss. Even in the devil reverse even if if these two folks who have been chained to one another decide to walk away that they are walking into a new reality unchained me meaning they can do almost anything. Meaning nothing is holding them down. Nothing is holding them back. No one is saying yes or saying no. Now they have to begin to trust their own intuition too to begin to trust their own divinity they don't have the devil in their ear anymore now they have to trust the voice inside of them that is connected to spiritual source. And I realize and recognize that a lot of times as we walk away from habits from addictions from relationships that held us back from anything that is not for our best and highest good anytime we walk away a lot of times the voice in our that we hear in our minds and our hearts and our spirits sounds a lot like what we left behind. They might sound like our parents. They might sound like our ex partners. They may sound like people from our churches that we left or spiritual houses that we left they may sound like our abusers
they may sound like every other voice but are almost sometimes we have to do the the unpacking and the burying down down down deep until we can actually locate our own On voice. And so that is the beauty of the nine of pentacles in reverse is that we are able to dig down to discover or rediscover all of the beauty that we offer to ourselves into the world and to those people around us. We are searching for the value within ourselves that maybe we didn't know was there. But now we see, because we're not chained to the devil anymore. Whoever or whatever the devil represents for you. We're not chained there, because home is what we deserve. And we get to define it for ourselves. We are putting things back into decency and in order. What is decent behavior for you? What will you allow what makes you bloom what waters you what makes you smile, what makes you want to break out into a dance what makes you want to saying what makes you just want to run around the room with joy, your head thrown back to the sun. Those are the things that feel like home. And that is what we should be clinging to and running toward every day of our life until we find it. And once we find it, hold on to it, preserve it and protect it with the best that we can. And so I just want to close with a Biblio Mansi message from ancestor said by human aura it is page 87. And it simply says ask for what you really want. Not what you think you should have. When you speak with authenticity, you'll unlock greater blessings. And so I asked you to do that this week. As for what you want. Ask for what you want. What do you want? The four of Wands is a card of joy, celebration, happiness. And I know sometimes we feel like we cannot ask for joy because we're living in what feels like the worst of days. But what do you really want? How can you access it with safety? I think the first thing we have to do is not be afraid to admit what our desires are in the season. not be afraid to experience or explore pleasure and joy and happiness. Yes, even in the midst of our pain. And as this passage says, When you speak with authenticity, you'll unlock greater blessings. And I truly truly believe that is to be true. All right, y'all. I hope you have a wonderful week. And I'll see you next time. Bye now.
