David McDonald, College of Arts and Sciences. A minute ago, you assured the faculty in this room that with regards to UA-10, the expressive activity policy, that it will be encorded. And that we are to expect it to be enforced. My question regards how it will be enforced. So far, we have 18 faculty and students who have been cited for violation at the Sample Gates. Have IUPD officers been dispatched to other parts of campus to find violators of the policy, or has it only been directed at the Sample Gates? Those at the Sample Gates in the reports that AVP Hunter provides, have documented well over 100 people at each of the four events. 400 people-ish have have attended those candlelight vigils. 18 have been cited. Why have not the full 400 been cited for violation of this policy? You said it will be enforced. I'm wanting you to perhaps clarify for us how and under what manner it will be enforced.
We are following the processes laid out in UA-10 that calls upon ACA 33 as the process that is followed. That is exactly what has been followed in every case that we have received. These complaints, when they come, if the identified person is a faculty, it goes to VPFA, who kicks the process off. If it's a student, it goes through Student Life and Student Conduct policies. If it's a staff member, it goes through the staff policies. As far as I know, we have followed the process in every complaint we have received, there may be more. There may be more coming. I have no idea. We take action when we become aware of a complaint.
